Why is the laptop warming up?

The laptop may heat up in such cases:

  • Faulty fan.
  • Clogged ventilation grill, dust build-up on the grill itself.
  • The formation of a certain layer of dust on the fan blades themselves. In this case, it makes sense to carry out according to our instructions cleaning the laptop from dust.

Important! When the laptop is working, you can hear only a little fan noise, which is needed to cool the fan motor, as well as for the electronic elements that are in the circuit board of your equipment. But there are situations when a cooler stops working in a laptop for no reason, it’s also a fan that cools the heat sink heatsink. Then either the noise is completely absent, or it is excessively intense.

How to open a laptop cover?

In order to open the laptop cover where the fan for cooling is located, you will need the following tools:

  1. a set of nozzles with a mini screwdriver;
  2. tweezers;
  3. an antistatic wristband that is worn on the wrist.

Important! An antistatic wristband must be worn on the wrist during each repair of audio and video equipment, the crocodile clip can be connected, pressed directly to the heating pipe and then calmly perform the work.

The manifestation of static stresses subject to these simple rules is excluded. With the formation of a spark of static electricity, you can break one of the pieces of electronics that is in the circuit board of your laptop.

After you removed the fan cover, the grill must be thoroughly cleaned.

Important! The computer can also slow down for other reasons - clogging of the operating system itself, low productivity. In this case, it will be useful for you to read about:

Cooler repair

After you disassemble the laptop and get to the fan itself, check it with a tester to see if power is supplied to it. Typically, these are red and black wires. If not, then it's not a cooler.

So, let's check whether the rotor rotates under the influence of fingers or tweezers, for example. If it does not rotate, then this means that the cooler is clogged with various debris, dust, and it must be cleaned and then lubricated with grease, which is intended for electric motors.

In this scenario, everything is quite simple:

  1. Tear off the sticker from it, carefully remove it with tweezers so as not to lose the loop that holds the rotor, then simply push the rotor out.
  2. You will see a sad picture of contaminated entrails.
  3. Using a brush that is previously moistened with alcohol, clean all this contaminated disgrace, and then dry thoroughly.
  4. After that, do not forget to clean the very hole into which the spire is inserted from the rotor.To do this, you will need a toothpick, as well as a piece of cotton wool and alcohol.
  5. After carrying out all these operations, it remains only to lubricate the rotor spire, and then assemble the cooler, following the disassembly process, but in the reverse order.

Important! If the cooler rotates well enough from the very beginning, but it does not work if there is power, most likely the armature winding is broken in it, but in this case it is easier, faster and more expedient to replace the cooler. In this case, use the instructions in a separate article. "How to install a fan in a PC?".
