What you need to know before proceeding with the firmware?

Before embarking on the firmware of any mobile device, you need to remember and adhere to a few simple rules:

  • The battery charge must be at least 80%.
  • You need to install drivers on a PC for your own mobile phone or tablet.
  • It is very undesirable if the Android firmware breaks due to, for example, a power outage (it is advisable to use a laptop).
  • To protect your mobile gadget from poor-quality OSes, you should create a backup copy of existing software and data.
  • It is undesirable to use the USB 3.0 port during the procedure.
  • You should familiarize yourself with the firmware before you start downloading it, trying to avoid suspicious Internet sites.
  • It is advisable to use the original USB-cable, which comes with the gadget upon purchase.
  • After completing the procedure, you need to hold the power button of the gadget for about 20 seconds.

Important! The order of connection and the choice of a special program for firmware depends on the model and brand of your mobile device. Whatever program you use, before starting the procedure, you should definitely backup your device.

Samsung Gadgets

For tablets, smartphones and Samsung phones, it is most convenient to use the special Kies program:

  • Download and install Kies on a personal computer.
  • Connect your device to the computer using the USB cable.

Important! If this is your first time connecting a device to a PC, you will most likely need to additionally install the necessary drivers specifically for your gadget model.

  • Launch Kies.
  • In the program menu, select Back up / Restore.
  • By checking the boxes next to the file types you need, you will back them up by clicking on the Back up button.
  • Now click on the Complete button.
  • After the backup is completed, go back to the main menu and find your gadget on the right in the list called Connected devices.
  • By clicking on the device, you can see if there are currently available updates. If the program finds updates, then you will need to click on the Fimware upgrate button.
  • After the installation of updates is completed, you will receive a message. Click OK and disconnect the gadget from the USB cable.

In the event that the firmware for your device appears as a three-file TAR archive, then the Odun program is suitable for you. To make it work, you will need to root your device and obtain superuser rights:

  1. Download the firmware as an archive or three separate files.
  2. Go to Settings menu, enable USB debugging.
  3. For tablet computers, press on the device simultaneously the power button and the sound reduction button.
  4. Connect your device to a PC.
  5. Launch Odin and in the field called PDA select the desired file.If there are several of them, then distribute them in the appropriate fields.
  6. Highlight Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time, then press Staer.
  7. After the device reboots, disconnect it from the computer.

LG update

To install the firmware on Android through a computer to a device of the LG brand, you can use the KDZ Updater program:

  1. Download the drivers for your gadget, firmware files and the KDZ Updater program to your computer.
  2. Install the drivers on the computer.
  3. Install and then run the program.
  4. For smartphones: connect the gadget to the PC, in the Type column select 3GCQT in the Type column, and the DIAG in the PhonoMode column, then specify the path to the firmware file in the KDZ file column and click on the update installation start button.
  5. For tablet computers: go to the folder with the downloaded archive, run the Windows Enabler.exe file, then from the folder called shttps run the file http.exe and UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe. Next, turn off and turn on the tablet, holding the volume rocker.

Most mobile devices based on the Android operating system, including Chinese, can be flashed using the SP Flash Tool.

Important! Please note that this manual is not suitable for devices with MT6577 and MT6575 processors.

Procedure:

  1. Download the SP MDT and SP Flash Tool programs on the Internet, and do not forget to download the USB VCOM drivers to your PC.
  2. Unplug the device.
  3. Remove and reinsert the battery (for smartphones).
  4. To connect the gadget to a computer, use a USB cable. Install the drivers.
  5. Disconnect the device from the computer.
  6. Launch the SP Flash Tool.
  7. Click the button called Scatter-loading, and then select the scatter file for your device from the firmware file.
  8. Click on Download.
  9. Turn off the gadget and connect it to the PC. If you connect the tablet while connecting the cable, then hold down the button to increase the volume. If you did everything correctly, the installation of a new version should begin.
  10. Do not touch the device until the procedure is completed, especially do not disconnect it from the computer to avoid streaking.
  11. After the completion of the procedure, disconnect your device from the PC, and you can start using the new version of the software.
