Lining

Before you sew a windbreaker for a girl or a boy, you must sew the lining component of the product. To do this, follow the proposed algorithm:

  1. Transfer your chosen pattern to a paper sheet, cut all its parts, cut them on a prepared piece of material. In the standard pattern, you get two shelves, one back and two sleeves - these details will be made of lining fabric. From the jacket tie you will get a rounded collar, 2 cuffs, a lower bar, which will play a pulling role.
  2. From the base fabric, cut out 2 coquette, central and side shelf parts, parts of the bottom of the strap, side parts of the back, front and back sleeve parts, lining fittings, as well as one part of the back coquette and the back of the back. In addition, you need to carve 4 burlap pockets.
  3. So, the details are cut out, it's time to start assembling the lining of the windbreaker. First of all, you need to put in front of you a cut shelf from the lining material, then attach it to the bend of the raincoat fabric and secure it with safety pins.
  4. Set the interval “3” on the sewing machine - sewing will continue with it. In this part of the product, it is not necessary to process the allowances with a zigzag - the finished jacket will hide all the bumps.
  5. Sew the seam that you marked with pins, thereby fastening together the underboard and the shelf of the inside of the product. The same manipulations must be performed with a different shelf.
  6. Unscrew the subboard and stitch the last seam from the side of the face, then step back about 3-4 mm from it and walk the machine along the seam again, in parallel.
  7. The back of the lining will be solid, for this reason it is not necessary to stitch it. To sew a windbreaker for the girl with your own hands, you need to put in front of you a cut back from the lining material, attach to it two details that will be in front, matching them in the shoulder part. Fasten parts with safety pins, sew shoulder seams on a sewing machine.
  8. Let's move on to the sleeves. The lines on top of its right and left halves are different. In order for both parts to be sewn in without errors, the first thing to do is attach the sleeves to the lining part and make sure that the large cutout is exactly in front.
  9. Fold the sleeve parts with the wrong side out, chop them with safety pins, thereby attaching the parts to the armholes.Stitch them on a typewriter.
  10. Unscrew the almost finished lining backwards, fasten the side seams with pins, which go into the sleeve, sew them on the sewing machine.
  11. The lining is almost ready. To finish what you started, you need to sew a loop that will allow you to hang a windbreaker on a hanger. For this purpose, you need to bend the rep ribbon, attach both its edges to the back of the lining with English pins, and then fasten the tape with a straight machine seam.

Do-it-yourself jacket lining for spring is ready! Ahead was a more difficult stage - the manufacture of the outer component of the garment.

The outer component of the windbreaker

After you have made the lining, you must go to the second stage of manufacturing outerwear. In order for the product to turn out beautiful and accurate, you must follow this algorithm:

  • First you need to connect the largest details of the product. To do this, attach its side parts to the sides of the center of the back, fasten them with safety pins. Connect the three parts with the previously installed seam on the sewing machine.

Important! Tracks of punctures are especially visible on the raincoat fabric, so try to use the pins as little as possible during the next steps.

  • Bend the allowances to the side of the part, which is located in the middle, and then sew with the same seam on the outside of the product.
  • To the part that turned out in the end, put the back yoke on the front side, stitch it. In the same way, expire the allowance, which will be bent to the yoke of the product.
  • Sew the sleeve parts in pairs on a sewing machine, and then iron the seams inside.
  • Continue to sew the children's windbreaker with your own hands on the pattern, sewing allowances on the outside of the windbreaker on both sides of the ironed seam.
  • Let's move on to the strike of the front parts. Pocket burlap sacks should be attached to the center and lateral parts of the shelf and secured with the same safety pins.
  • Stitch the burlap to these components, then unscrew them and stitch from the front. In this case, you need to make a small indent (approximately 5 mm).
  • Fold together the details of the center and side, while matching pocket burlap, sew them inside out. Sutures are laid only before and after the pocket.
  • Unscrew both burlap sacks to the side shelf, sew in the place where the seam connects the side and the center of the shelf.
  • Unscrew the product, sew pocket burlap around the perimeter.
  • Sew the front part of the coquette to the front shelf with a finished pocket. Allowances must be wrapped up and stitched. Carry out the same procedure with another shelf.
  • Attach these shelves to the back. To do this, grind the seams, and bend the allowances in the direction where the back is. Stitch.
  • Attach sleeves to the sleeve armholes, securing them with safety pins. Stitch them.
  • Start on the product side seams that go into sleeve seams.

Assembly of two parts

The second base of the jacket for the child is sewn. It remains to combine the lining and the outside of the product:

  • The cuff parts must be connected in a ring and stitch the edges from the inside, and then turned on the face.
  • “Put on” the cuffs on the edges of the sleeves, fasten them using safety pins. Cuffs are better to stretch a little.
  • Stitch them to the sleeve, then turn them on the front side.
  • Stitch two raincoat parts to the dragging bar, which is located at the bottom of the product - these are parts of the lower bar. They will be located near the bottom of the zipper.
  • Expand the windbreaker's garter, sew one of its edges to the bottom, and sew the second edge of the garter to the lining of the windbreaker.
  • “Insert” between the two components a bent garter lower bar. Stitch the line next to the seam connecting the bar to the lining.

Important! In this case, it is better to start and finish the seam about 10 cm from the edges of the sides - this is to make it easier to sew in a zipper.

  • Turn both components of the windbreaker inside out, and then very carefully attach the jacket sleeves to the lining. Stitch the edges of the lining to the cuff stocks.
  • Sew a zipper to the product.
  • Tighten the side lining a little, turn inside out. Bend the collar detail in half, put between the two parts of the windbreaker, sew. Unscrew the jacket, stitch the collar, while stepping back from the place where the joint of materials is located. Stitch the hole in the lining.
