The simplest workshop

Making the simplest model is available even to a person with minimal tailor skills. The finished product does not have any special frills. Outwardly, it resembles a compact, but very roomy bag. If you think about how you can sew a backpack with your own hands, make patterns from paper, make sure that everything is taken into account and done correctly, and only then transfer the contour to the fabric, taking into account allowances for the seams.

For work you will need:

  • Old jeans.
  • Cord.
  • A bit of non-woven.
  • Belt tape.
  • Lining fabric.
  • Teak.

Important! To begin, cut off all the excess from the side of the legs. How much you cut off your legs affects the size of the product. Carefully spread the product at the seams so that the parts remain in a straight shape.

Next, proceed in this order:

  1. Gently cut off all the excess.
  2. Cut the lining to fit the product.
  3. Fold and stitch the parts in such a way that you get a blank in the form of a pipe. Set the lining aside for now.
  4. Engage in the manufacture of the bottom. To make it durable, it is advisable to make it in 3 layers. Two layers of teak plus non-woven will give the bottom of the backpack the necessary strength.
  5. Sew the lining on the wrong side. Sew all the parts carefully.
  6. Use the straps designed for the belt under the cord covering the neck of the product.
  7. For sewing straps use a belt tape.
  8. Cut denim pads out of denim to make it comfortable to wear on the back.

Important! Try to cut the product so that the pockets remain intact. They can be used to store small items.

  1. Fill pockets with button flaps.

Important! If you don’t want to bother with the bottom and you don’t need a too voluminous model, you can do without the bottom. It’s enough just to make a beautiful seam below.
