Coat pattern

Many fashionistas are familiar with the concept of a summer coat, and some women are not aware of it, but in vain. Such clothes are relevant not only in cold weather, but also in warm weather. The only difference between a summer coat and a demi-season option is cut and fabric. So, to make such a product, you will need to purchase a light fabric, which should be cut according to a special pattern - without a collar and buttons. As a material, cotton, silk, satin or lace are perfect. Such clothes should be in the wardrobe of any modern girl. The pattern of a coat is even for the most inexperienced craftswoman, and professional stitches will sew such a product in a few hours. Today we will consider in more detail how to sew a summer coat without a collar with our own hands.

Simple pattern

A light, summer coat without a collar is the trend of the season! Casual style is able to appreciate only the most advanced fashionistas. Such a coat can be made with or without a lining - the easiest option. The difficulty of tailoring is at an average level, so any girl can handle the pattern. Now we will look at how a general pattern of a straight-cut coat with a single-seam sleeve is modeled.

Materials and tools:

  • Lightweight fabric to choose from.
  • Ready-made coat pattern (can be taken from a magazine or the Internet).
  • Sewing supplies.

Stages of the pattern:

  1. We simulate the back. Make the side seam of the back of the product straight. Deepen the neckline. The length of our coat on the back is 88 cm. Before you design the back, do not forget to fold the fabric in half and remove the tuck along the waistline.
  2. We simulate before. We transfer the chest tuck to the side on the pattern of the front of the product. Increase the depth of cut by 2 cm, and then make an allowance for half-drift along the front of 3 cm. Straighten the side line (the length of the side cut should be equal to the length of the side cut of the back). Now draw a pocket 18 cm long and 16 cm wide (at your discretion). From the front of the pattern, we re-shoot the subboard.
  3. We cut out the sleeve. We transfer the sleeve from the finished pattern without any personal changes. The length of our sleeve is 50 cm.

Pattern is ready! You can start sewing!

How to sew a summer coat?

So, here we come to a more detailed method of manufacturing a stylish summer product. For its manufacture, we chose a fabric with a bright print, which will especially emphasize the impeccable taste of the owner. We divided the whole process into separate stages, which are presented for a more detailed acquaintance.

Materials and tools:

  • 1, 5 m of jacquard fabric (width 145 cm).
  • 1.3 m of lining fabric.
  • 2.4 m of knitted inlay for decoration (width 1 cm).
  • 5 buttons with textile close-fitting.

Pattern and tailoring:

  • We cut out all the details on the main fabric, taking into account allowances for seams of 1.5 cm, on the hem of the coat and sleeves - 3 cm, on the upper edge of the pockets - 2 cm.
  • We cut out the details of the front and back, sleeves, and pockets from the lining fabric only with the deduction of the available kits.
  • We duplicate the thermal fabric allowances on the bottom of the coat, sleeves, fit, backstitching. We grind the tucks on the shelves, iron the allowances down. We adjust the knitted trim on the left shelf, moving in the direction from the neck to the very bottom in the middle front line.
  • Adjust the contour of the tape on the details of the pockets. We process the pockets with a lining, sharpening it strictly according to the previously marked markup.

Important! It’s better to train several times to sew a patch pocket on an unnecessary piece of fabric.

  • After making the pockets, grind the shoulder and side seams. We iron out the allowances and process them on an overlock machine.
  • Now we grind the seams on the sleeves, we sit down the okatas, we sew the sleeves into the armholes. We bend the increase on the bottom of the sleeves several times, and then we carefully sweep everything.
  • We grind the lining details at the seams, sew the collar, as well as grind the back of our product. We put the lining on the coat with the front side, and then sew it on the front and neckline of our neck. Bend the lining, grind it along the neck and midline. We iron everything well. Sew a lining to the sleeves of our outerwear.
  • We process and bend the allowances along the bottom of the summer coat, and then sew them with a blind seam. In the same way we process and allowances on the bottom of the lining. We fix the pick on both sides with flexible rivets.
  • Sew buttons on the coat according to the previously planned markup.

That's all the work. Stylish coat is ready to replenish your wardrobe!

Button Wrap Coat Pattern

This type of coat is characterized by a free cut and the absence of buttons. The entire manufacturing process - from the beginning of the construction of the pattern to the last stage of sewing, consists of the following step-by-step processes.

Take measurements

So, to form a pattern, it is necessary to take such measurements. We have such values:

  • The length of the back to the waistline is 38 cm.
  • Shoulder length - 15 cm.
  • Half neck circumference - 17 cm.
  • Half chest circumference - 47 cm.
  • Half-waist - 37 cm.
  • Half hips - 47 cm.
  • The sleeve length of the product is 50 cm.
  • The length of the coat (measured along the back from the cervical vertebra) is 100 cm.

All of the above measurements are strictly individual. For example, we took the average parameters for a slender figure.

Important! There are no chest protrudes along the chest line due to the fact that this allows an increase in freedom of fit.

Construction of a pattern of a coat with a smell:

  1. First, draw a grid. We draw a rectangle with a width of 55 cm (half-circumference of the hips according to your measurements + 7 cm for freedom of cut) and a length of 100 cm (the length of the coat is measured).
  2. We cut out the following details from the main fabric:
    • Shelf - 2 parts.
    • Back - 1 piece with a fold.
    • Subboard - 2 parts.
    • Sleeve - 2 parts.

The increase in seams is 2 cm, on the bottom of the coat and sleeves - 3 cm.

Sewing technique:

  1. We sweep, and then grind the shoulder and side seams. We sweep and stitch the collar along the midline of the back. We sweep and sew the collar into the neck of the back of the product, making a small incision of the increase in the corner of the collar.
  2. Now we sweep and do a line on the collar on the picks. We put together a pickup face to face with a coat. We sew everything on a sewing machine along the midline of the front and the outer side of the collar. We turn out the part, sweep it, and then carefully iron it.
  3. We sew at the seams of the coat sleeves, then we wind them into the armholes and sew. We turn and adjust allowances along the sleeves and along the hem of the product.
  4. We tuck the pockets on their upper sides, sew them, and after that we tuck them on the other sides in order to stitch the coats on the shelves according to the previously marked markup.

We have a very feminine classic summer coat that can be worn with great pleasure!

Important! To decorate such a coat, it is not necessary to use many pockets or other additional elements. The summer outfit will perfectly complement the delicate print, lace or accessories of restrained shades.

General recommendations:

  • A classic cut will always be relevant, but for a feeling of freedom in movement, we recommend sewing a wide variety of coats with a smell.
  • Pay particular attention to color matching. The most suitable color scheme will be pastel tones or more saturated shades. But if you want to stand out, then use bright flashy colors - turquoise, red, purple.
  • In hotter weather, these models can be advantageously combined with short shorts and tops, a miniskirt and a tank top. But wraparound models are best worn with dresses and jeans.
  • Girls with curvaceous forms for sewing a summer coat should take a fabric with a small floral print so as not to concentrate on problem areas. Short ladies are well suited coat to the middle of the thigh.
  • For an open model of a light summer cardigan, it is advisable to put on sandals, woven sandals with a low heel or wedge. But with closed models ballet flats, summer half boots or high boots (over the knee boots) are harmoniously combined.
