Of course, you can hand over the product to dry cleaning or use a special stain remover, but this is not always possible. In the absence of these amenities, use the available means that you have at home at hand. Often they are even more effective than expensive cleaners. We offer you several recipes on how to remove greasy stains from clothes.

How to remove oily stains?

To cope with such a task, a lot of different means are suitable. You will come to the rescue:

  • table salt;
  • sugar;
  • vinegar;
  • starch;
  • flour;
  • 72% laundry soap;
  • concentrated detergents for dishes;
  • medical alcohol;
  • ammonia;
  • petrol;
  • turpentine;
  • blotting paper or napkins;
  • iron.

Important! Consider the earlier you start the fight with a greasy spot, the easier it will be to remove it.

How to get rid of a greasy spot?

Immediately determine the course of your actions:

  1. Pay attention to the type of material on which the place appeared with a trace of fat.
  2. Read the care label on the inner label.
  3. Determine how old the dirt is.

Then proceed directly to cleaning in a suitable way.

Option 1 - Simple Salt

You have found that you have “planted” a greasy stain on your clothing, use salt - it absorbs and removes non-eaten fat. For this:

  3. Treat the fabric.

Option 2

Use gasoline as a cleaner - it removes even old greasy stains:

  1. Dampen a cotton swab in the product.
  2. Wipe the desired spot with gasoline.
  3. Rub it with brown bread - it takes in the smell.
  4. Wash the product with detergent in warm water.

Option 3

A mixture of gasoline, alcohol and ammonia will surely help you forget about the problem:

  1. Take 100g of alcohol, 1/2 hour. tablespoons of refined gasoline and 1 teaspoon of ammonia.
  2. Mix the ingredients.
  3. Apply to the desired area on the fabric.
  4. Let it dry.
  5. Repeat if necessary.

Option 4

How to get rid of oily stains on light, thin and woolen fabrics?

Delicate fabrics require a special approach. But even with such a difficult task, you can cope quickly if you clearly follow our recommendations.

Method 1

If the grease stain is not very old, remove it with the usual 72% laundry soap (brown bar). Just wash your clothes in a hot soapy solution.

Method 2

  1. Dilute vinegar with water in equal proportions.
  2. Soak a thing for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Wash in a way convenient for you.

Method 3

To get rid of oily stains of different ages:

  1. Make a solution of ammonia and water in a ratio of 1: 1.
