We remove green from linoleum

One of the most unpleasant and common pollution on linoleum is a trace from a solution of brilliant green (according to the folk - brilliant green). The sooner you begin to fight this blot, the easier it will be to “painlessly” destroy it.

The removal procedure itself is very simple:

  1. Prepare cotton pads, cotton, or soft wipes.
  2. Soak them in hydrogen peroxide and gently wipe the contaminated area.
  3. Discard the used disc immediately and use a clean one to continue removing the brilliant green fluid from the linoleum. If you do not change the smeared disk in time, then the green will only eat deeper and smear.

Important! If the brilliant green has not yet managed to penetrate deep into the coating, then it can be removed with warm water mixed with any detergent.

We remove fat from the floor

It is also necessary to act with such contaminants very quickly, since fat can begin to dissolve the paint with which the material is coated. This, in turn, threatens a damaged coating pattern.

Removing oily stains from linoleum looks like this:

  1. Greasy contamination must first be removed with a paper towel.
  2. Wipe with warm water and detergent.

Important! If the described method does not suit you, and the stain still remains on the floor, then we recommend using turpentine. This tool should be used with greater caution. Moisten a towel with turpentine and rub the dirty area. After that, wipe the floor with warm water.

We remove asphalt spots from linoleum

There are times when walking along a new asphalt that has not yet had time to dry, bring this “happiness” home on your shoes. Do not worry, such a stain can also be removed.

Stains from wax, oil or asphalt are removed with gasoline:

  1. First, try to gently scrape off the dirt.
  2. Wipe with a cloth dampened with gasoline.
  3. Wash the floor with warm water.

Important! Traces of iodine and food coloring that are difficult to remove are removed from the linoleum with chlorine-based products. Such substances are very deeply absorbed into the structure of the flooring, so the sooner you start removing it, the more chances there are to get rid of it.

We wash all other types of stains from linoleum:

  1. If your child fools around and outlines linoleum with a pen or marker, do not panic. Marker or ink marks are easily removed with alcohol.
  2. If mustard or tomato juice gets on the floor with this material, then there is a high probability that the problem will remain. To erase it, you need to make a weak saline solution and use it.
  3. Stains left by grass, rust or mold are removed with lemon juice. You can also use any bleaching agent.
  4. In the hallway we often come across traces left by rubber soles or shoe cream. Such a nuisance can be wiped off with gasoline. After treatment, be sure to wash the floor with water.
  5. To clean the primer from linoleum, use a 9% vinegar solution and a brush.
  6. White paint is removed from the coating with hydrogen peroxide.

Important! Spots on linoleum from rubber are considered the most difficult to remove. Try to wipe them first with kerosene. If the dirt does not lend itself, then the second way is to rub it with an abrasive cloth, fine sandpaper or pumice. Carefully “comb” the top layer of linoleum, grease the area with linseed oil and polish it with a coarse cloth.

If this method does not save you from this problem, then only one thing remains - to replace linoleum in this place:

  • Carefully cut out a square-shaped linoleum.
  • Pick a picture and put on a double-sided tape a new piece of linoleum in place of the cut one.
  • Glue the slots with cold glue.
  • Such a “substitution” will not be striking and will look much better than linoleum with a stain.

Important tips for caring for linoleum:

  • It is not recommended to wash the floor covered with linoleum with hot water or water diluted with ammonia, soda. Such care spoils the surface of the coating, it fades and yellow marks and stains may appear.
  • Any tool for removing stains on linoleum should first be tried on an invisible section of the flooring. If nothing happened to him, then you can safely proceed to the processing of the desired place.
  • To prevent the appearance of spots on linoleum, we advise you to use specially designed polymer polishes from time to time. They create a thin protective layer on the coating, which will prolong the operation of linoleum, and any troubles that have occurred can be more easily removed.
