  • PVC The most budget option, but it will last only five to seven years.
  • Brass. The most expensive option. But this material is fragile, so even a small blow is enough to damage the siphon.

How to use this “gadget”:

  1. We collect hot water into the sink to a level of five to seven centimeters.
  2. The rubber dome is placed above the drain hole.
  3. With vigorous movements up and down we pump water.
  4. After removing the plunger, we evaluate whether the water has left.
  5. If the water does not leave, repeat the above steps several times.

If it does not help, we use other methods.

Important! A plunger is inexpensive, but it perfectly cleans bathtubs, sinks and toilets. Therefore, he must be in every house. Although it is not suitable for serious blockages.

Vinegar and soda

It is possible to clean the sink with soda and vinegar. These improvised tools can help out in an unpleasant situation. In addition to soda and vinegar, you will need to prepare a teapot with boiling water and a thin stick.

Then we follow the instructions:

  1. The sink is wiped dry.
  2. Pour half a glass of baking soda into the drain hole, if it does not fit all, push it with a thin stick.
  3. Pour vinegar into the drain, 100 ml.
  4. After 5 minutes, pour boiling water into the drain hole.

Important! Before the procedure, be sure to look at the material for making the siphon. If thin-walled plastic is used for it, boiling water should not be poured. It must be replaced with hot water at a temperature of about 70 degrees.

How to disassemble a siphon?

Learn how to clean the siphon in the bathroom or in the kitchen. Most often, it gets clogged due to the fact that garbage accumulates in it. In the bathroom - hair and soap, in the kitchen - leftover food and fat. The best option for cleaning is to disassemble the siphon, for this:

  1. We put a bucket under the siphon into which water will fall after removing the siphon.
  2. We turn off the sump, in which the garbage is collected.

  4. We fasten the sump back.
  5. Turn on the water to check how the water leaves.

Important! When installing the sump, pay attention to the gasket. It should become even, otherwise - water from the siphon will leak.

  1. We put a bucket for draining water from the siphon.
  2. From the unscrewed sump, drain the remaining water.
  3. To remove the siphon, you need to unscrew the nut with which it is attached to the sewer and sink.
  4. After loosening the nuts on the siphon, you need to remove the pipe with which it is connected to the sink.
  5. We wash all parts with hot water in order to remove grease and food debris.
  6. Rinse the corrugated tube that goes from the siphon to the sewer with hot water.
  7. In the reverse order, we assemble the device.

We use a cable

Sometimes a bag or sponge for washing dishes can be in the sewers, then a plunger or soda with vinegar will not help. In this case, you should use a plumbing cable. Such a device is not only every plumbing, but almost every home, because it is indispensable.

How do they work:

  1. We enter the cable into the sewer pipe through the drain hole.
  2. We make rotational movements with the handle, at the same time push the cable further.

Important! Periodically, the cable must be removed in order to remove the dirt that collects on it.
