Method one: use napkins

No matter how exotic the idea of ​​decorating a glass may seem, from which you will then need to drink some kind of drink using paper napkins, this is quite possible. Oddly enough, such a decoupage will turn a glass product into something fantastic.

Materials for work

In order to go to the decoupage of glasses with your own napkins, you will need the following materials:

  • Unprocessed glass goblets.
  • Napkins with delicate floral patterns.
  • Rice paper.
  • Tassels.
  • Masking tape.
  • Adhesive for decoupage.
  • Special glassy varnish.
  • Alcohol solution or pure alcohol.
  • Crystal paste.
  • Palette knife.
  • Rhinestones at will.

  1. Prepare utensils for processing: thoroughly rinse the glasses with a special product, wipe them dry with a clean rag, wipe with alcohol to degrease.
  2. Glue masking tape on the upper edge of the vessel so that it does not get used chemicals.
  3. To process a glass with rice paper with an overlap of a thickness not exceeding 0.3 mm. You can trim the excess from the leg and top edge.
  4. Glue paper to the wine glass with water. To do this, it must be evenly smoothed over the surface with a special flat brush. Wet paper is generally very obedient.
  5. Apply decoupage adhesive to the treated surface and allow to dry.
  6. Cut a fragment of the ornament from a paper napkin, remove unnecessary layers from it.
  7. Spray cuts with hairspray and leave to dry, then repeat this procedure three times. This will help the subsequent bonding of materials.
  8. Put the cut pattern on the glass and apply decoupage glue on top (it is applied from the center to the edges). Leave for independent drying.
  9. Process glass with glassy varnish and leave to dry again.
  10. Using a palette knife, apply crystal paste to the leg. It is an excellent decorative element for any celebratory glassware.
  11. Wait until the dishes have completely dried, then glue rhinestones or beads on it if desired.

Method Two: Lace

Before making a decoupage of glasses with your own hands, it is necessary to prepare the following elements for work:

  • Transparent wine glasses without decor.
  • Lace fabric.
  • Glue gun.
  • White pearlescent glass contour on an acrylic base.
  • Satin ribbon.
  • Decorative braid.
  • Satin ribbon.
  • Alcohol.
  • Tweezers.
  • Scissors.

Workshop on manufacturing

Consider the procedure in stages:

  1. As in the first variation, the glass needs to be washed, wiped and treated with alcohol.
  2. Pick up the elongated lace element. There can be either an application or a small cut out piece from a large panel.
  3. Gently stick the material to the glass surface using a glue gun.
  4. Apply several rows of dots from the acrylic contour. The frequency of the points of their thickness to adjust to your liking.
  5. Next, you need to glue the decorative braid after rows of decorative dots.
  6. Fix a thin satin ribbon under the braid and stick it.
  7. Fill all sections between the elements with acrylic dots.
  8. Glue rhinestones and beads at will, attach lace to the leg.
