• If your floor is wooden, that is, traditionally plank or parquet, and the wall is made of concrete, then it is better to attach the plinth to the horizontal plane.
• There is the opposite rule: if the floor is concrete or poured with screed, and the walls are made of wood, it is better to attach the baseboard to the wall.

Important! Before attaching the baseboard to a concrete wall, consider what the cladding consists of. If it was leveled with gypsum plaster, soft stone, or plaster, the skirting board will have to be fixed using special yellow finishes (they have miniature heads). It is better not to use self-tapping screws, dowels and nails, as they will not hold the bar securely.

• You can glue the skirting board to the concrete wall using “liquid nails”. However, it is worth taking into account that it will be very difficult to remove the bars later.
• You can also fix the rails with special clips (or clamps). Please note that if you have not previously worked with such material, then it is better not to undertake work.

• If the floor is artificial (for example, laminate, linoleum, ceramic tiles or any other coating on it), then it is better to choose a plastic strip or a panel from MFD.

Installation of plastic products

From the above it follows that the main advantage of plastic strips is the ease of installation. There is no need to perfectly trim the joints and strictly adjust the details to each other.

The algorithm for fixing plastic strips looks like this:

• The first step is to lay the slats, starting from a certain room angle and ending at the opposite end of the wall.

Important! If necessary, you can cut the final sections of the bar.

• Place marks on the rails where the fixtures will be located.
• Drill holes in designated areas.

Important! Note that the diameter of the drill should be slightly smaller than the cross section of the screw heads.

• Remove the slats, hammer the plastic dowels into the holes.
• Lay the rails back, screw the screws through the holes in the dowels.
• Close the end faces and caps of screws with caps.
• Before fixing the baseboard to the concrete wall so that the holes for the fasteners come out the same depth, it is recommended to mark this place on the drill.

Important! At the very beginning of the installation, it is not necessary to completely tighten the screws - they only need to be baited. Finally, they need to be fixed only when the skirting boards are installed around the perimeter of the entire room. Also keep in mind that self-tapping screws also do not need to be twisted as much as possible, otherwise the plastic baseboard will not be able to serve you as long as you want.

Important! Before starting work, it is necessary to make all the necessary measurements of the perimeter of the walls of the room - this can be done using a tape measure. Set aside distance on planks to cut them. In order to create corner joints, it is recommended to cut their ends, coming to the aid of the miter box - the angle should be 45 degrees.

So, in order to attach the baseboard without drilling, you must follow this algorithm:

1. Drive the nails into the prepared baseboard so that their tips barely protrude from the opposite side.
2. Now you need to install the rail in place. Using previously driven nails, show the marks where the wooden corks will be located. To do this, lightly hit with a hammer on each mounting head.
3. Remove the floor baseboard from the wood and drill holes on the marks using a drill or punch with this function.
4. After this, you need to drive wooden plugs into the resulting holes.
5. Put the slats in place, drive the nails completely.
