How to clean pots?

How to clean pots?First, try to clean the pan using folk methods using the products available in each kitchen. So you can save money on the purchase of special household chemicals, as well as the time it takes to visit the stores.

Soda

This is a universal tool used by our grandmothers to clean the heaviest soiling dishes. Soda can be used as an abrasive agent: pour the agent on a sponge or iron washcloth (if utensil material allows) and clean the contaminated surface. In such a simple way, you can even clear the pan of soot.

Another way to use soda is to boil a pan in a solution. Proceed as follows:

  1. Place the soiled pan in an even larger container.
  2. Pour the utensils completely with water (water should cover the pan 2-3 cm).
  3. Add soda to the water (for 5-6 liters of water, 0.5 kg of soda).
  4. Boil the pan in soda solution for at least an hour (about 50 minutes).
  5. Wait for the pan to cool.
  6. Wash the pan in the usual way.

Important! Sludge and layering of fat will leave without much difficulty, which means you will spend a minimum of time and effort on solving the issue of how to clean the pan. The same effect can be obtained if vinegar (proportion with water 1: 2) or citric acid (per 1 liter of 3 sachets) is used instead of soda.

Vinegar

Another universal tool that not only perfectly copes with various contaminants, but also has a disinfecting effect. Use it this way:

  1. Pour table vinegar onto the burnt surface of the item. Due to the fact that it contains a lot of acid, fat and carbon will dissolve.
  2. Cover the pan and let it stand for 2-3 hours.
  3. Wash with any detergent.

Serum

This is a pretty old way to clean the pot that our grandmothers used. Whey will help get rid of carbon deposits quickly enough, although vinegar acts faster and more efficiently. Use whey in this way:

  1. Pour the serum into the pan 1-2 cm above the burnt place.
  2. Leave on for 24 hours.
  3. Drain the whey.
  4. Wash the items with any detergent.

Important! Due to the serum acid content, burnt food easily peels off the surface of the pan.

Salt

Salt is much more effective to use together with water: pour the affected pan with strong saline and boil for a little over an hour.

To clean a burnt pan of aluminum or enamel, you can use a soda-salt mixture. This method will take some time, but you will be sure that you will not damage the item and do not have to carefully rub the coating with your hands. The method of application of this tool is as follows:

  1. Mix equal amounts of soda and salt.
  2. Fill the bottom of the burnt pan with a mixture.
  3. Add warm water until gruel forms.
  4. Close the pan with a lid.
  5. Leave on for 24 hours.
  6. After a day, replace the mixture.
  7. Add water to cover a burnt place.
  8. Place the pot on the stove and boil water.
  9. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
  10. After the pan has cooled, wash it in the usual way.

Important! Do not use this method for a stainless steel pan, as dark spots may appear from salt. It is better to boil in an acetic-aqueous solution for about 10 minutes.

Lemon acid

This tool is very effective in coping not only with soot, but also with lime deposits. With a strong solution of citric acid (1 tbsp. 1-2 tsp), applied to the sponge, wipe the problem areas.

Important! To remove carbon deposits, you can fill the pot with citric acid and boil it in a larger container in the same way as when using a soda solution.

Soap

Pour hot water into the pan and add liquid soap, you can also use a dishwashing detergent. Boil for 15-20 minutes, and after cooling, clean the pan with a kitchen sponge.

Important! This method is effective if the burn has a mild character.

Sour apples

Many housewives put the pots in order with sour apples or rhubarb: it’s enough to boil the peel of sour apples or rhubarb in contaminated objects, and the pan will sparkle like new.

Onion

How to clean pots? The onion peeling method is very good if porridge is burnt in the pan. Proceed as follows:

  1. Pour water into the dishes.
  2. Add 1 large or 2 medium-sized onions to the bowl.
  3. Put the pan on the fire and boil.
  4. Light the fire and simmer for another 10 to 10 minutes.
  5. Allow the pan to cool and then wash in the usual way.

Important! The unpleasant onion smell will disappear after a few minutes of cooking the vegetable.

How to clean an aluminum pan?

Like any other material, aluminum has its own specific features that must be taken into account when choosing tools for cleaning dishes:

  • Aluminum is a soft metal, so the surface of a product made from it is subject to scratches and deformations. When starting to clean an aluminum pan, remove metalized wire brushes, knives, sand, sandpaper, and also sponges with an abrasive coating from the list of available tools.
  • Aluminum easily comes into contact with acid-containing and alkaline compounds, so the use of such products will lead to undesirable visual effects on dishes. The use of harsh chemicals when cleaning aluminum utensils can result in a loss of gloss and darkening of the surface. Washing powders and products that contain chalk can also not be used, so as not to get the exact opposite result.
  • Washing aluminum dishes in the dishwasher is also not recommended, since the products used in such household appliances are contraindicated in aluminum products: gloss is lost, the coating darkens.

Important! Despite such a long list of aluminum restrictions, there are a number of simple and effective ways to return pots from this material to their original shine and presentation.

The simplest remedy is a soap solution. They can soak the dishes for 2 hours, and then rinse thoroughly. You can also boil a solution of soda in an aluminum pan to cleanse carbon deposits. Suitable for washing porcelain and glass.

Method number 1

How to clean pots?To clean the aluminum pan with this method, you will need a large boiling capacity, 100 g of stationery silicate glue and 100 g soda ash.

Follow this pattern:

  1. Fill the prepared container with water.
  2. Dissolve glue and soda in warm water.
  3. Boil water.
  4. Dip the contaminated dishes in a container so that it is covered with water for 2-3 cm.
  5. Boil the dishes for 40 minutes.
  6. After the pan has cooled, rinse it with cold water.

Method number 2

You will need 100 g of finely grated laundry soap (without dyes and flavorings), 3 tbsp. l silicate glue. Boil a dirty pan in an aqueous solution with soap and silicate glue. At the end of cleaning, rinse the dishes in cold water, adding 1 tsp. ammonia. The pan will sparkle as good as new.

Additional care recommendations

To save yourself from unnecessary trouble and keep aluminum utensils in order, use our tips and follow a number of simple rules:

  1. Do not cook milk porridges and soups in aluminum dishes, as such food always leaves traces on the walls and bottom of the pan that are difficult to get rid of.
  2. Do not store finished products in aluminum dishes - they may cause stains on the walls of the pan, and this is also unsafe for health.
  3. Do not use aluminum utensils for pickling and pickling vegetables. During the process, a harmful alkaline environment is formed, which is harmful to the metal, and in addition, chemical compounds harmful to the body can form.
  4. Do not leave the pan on fire unattended: regulate the fire under the pan and stir the cooking dish in a timely manner.
  5. After buying aluminum utensils, rinse well with detergent, dry and bake. This procedure will allow the formation of a film of aluminum oxide salts on the upper surface of the container, which, with subsequent use, will protect the metal from oxidation, which means it will reduce the likelihood of harmful substances entering the food. For ignition: pour vegetable oil on the bottom of the dishes, add 100 g of salt and warm well. You will determine the completion of the process by the smell of hot oil.
  6. To get rid of dark spots on the inner surface of the pan - fill it to the top with kefir or sour milk. Leave the product in the container for several hours, and then rinse in the usual way. For the same purpose, you can use cucumber or tomato pickle, as well as sour tomatoes.
