Before painting

Before you start painting the coat, you should weigh the pros and cons, as in this procedure there are always risks. Are you sure you are sure to paint your coat at home or do you need to take it to dry cleaning, where you will paint it yourself?

We proceed as follows.

Determine the composition of the fabric

Most often, the final result depends entirely on the quality of the material from which the coat is sewn. There may be such options:

  • Natural fabrics. They are best suited for repainting in a different color, and the risk of failure is minimal.
  • Mixed. In this case, the original version will turn out to be somewhat paler than you expected.
  • Synthetic. They are poorly or not stained at all. Therefore, it is better not to take risks.

Important! Very often negligent manufacturers indicate on the tag the composition of the fabric from which the product is sewn. Consider this nuance. And to protect yourself from surprises, try initially to dye a small piece of cloth that always comes with any thing.

Determine the future color

It’s best not to radically change color. Choose the same or a few shades darker. For example, if your coat was red, then you can paint it in the same or burgundy. For the experiment, the same spare tissue flap will come in handy again.
