Joiner glue at home

This is the best glue for gluing wood. It effectively glues cardboard, paper and other materials. But this glue has several own features:

  • it cannot be stored for a long time in liquid form, because it deteriorates very quickly, becomes moldy, and it also gels;
  • he has a pungent and disgusting smell.

Therefore, before you make super glue of this type with your own hands, immediately prepare a place with a front of work. There are a small number of ways in which it is possible to prepare high-quality carpentry glue, including long-term storage. The most affordable are the following methods.

Method One:

  1. Take ordinary wood glue.
  2. Grind and soak it in a container with water until it swells completely.
  3. It must become soft, reminiscent of aspic.
  4. Place this solution in a special container for melting, which is called a buttercloth. It can be made independently from an ordinary tin can.
  5. Place the prepared buttercloth along with the cooked mass in a water bath, and then put on a very slow fire.
  6. The mass is constantly mixed with a stick, which is made of wood.
  7. In the event that it burns, your glue will turn yellow and lose a significant part of its adhesive functions.
  8. After this mass goes into the necessary state, dilute it with vodka in the proportion of 720 g of glue to 950 g of vodka.
  9. Then - for every 100 g of glue, add 12 g of powder alum.

Important! The wood glue obtained by this method provides a sufficiently high strength to the glued surfaces, and also has quite good water-repellent functions.

The second way:

  1. In a buttercloth, boil wood glue with water in a 1: 1 ratio.
  2. Wait until it begins to thicken.
  3. Pour the mass into a container of porcelain and use a pestle to grind until this solution resembles a gelatinous mass.
  4. After that, put the mixture on a special plate, cool and cut into pieces.

This powder is casein, and a solution based on it is an excellent option to make shoe glue at home.

Second stage: we prepare glue from prepared casein

To make a sticky mass of casein, pour the powder into absolutely any dish - but it’s better to take a flat one and pour water with a thin stream, constantly stirring. Take 1 part water for 1 part casein powder. You should definitely get a thick mass.

Important! The most crucial moment during the preparation of casein glue is further mixing until a homogeneous mass is formed. The better the solution is mixed, the higher the quality of the glue. This procedure will take you at least 20-30 minutes. But you can speed up the whole process if you use a regular mixer.
