Temporary Flaps

For temporary traffic jams, you can use:

  • A piece of polystyrene cut to the size of the drain hole.
  • The fastest, but at the same time the most short-lived way to make a plug for the bathroom is to crumple a newspaper or sheet of paper. You just need to push the paper very tightly so that the homemade plug lasts longer.
  • You can complicate the way a little: cram the paper tightly, giving it the desired shape, then dry, and then tie the bags, removing air from them to the maximum.

Important! You need to use 3-4 sachets to block the access of water to the paper, then the lid will last longer.

  • For a while, you can plug the hole with what is at hand, for example, with a sock or even several if one is not enough. Just crumple one or more socks into a ball and plug the hole with them.
  • You can fill the sock with small salt or sand, and wrap a plastic bag on top. Pour the filling into the sock in a small amount. Thanks to them, the sock will take the desired shape and reliably hold water in the bathroom.
  • If you have foil on hand, crumple it into a ball, close the drain hole with this ball. The size of the ball should be slightly larger than the hole itself in the sink. Such a lid keeps water well, but it is disposable.

Important! You should not regularly use this method, it will cost you more than just buy a new cork.

  • You can adapt any children's toys of a suitable size to the closure. But, of course, they must be from a material that does not leak water. For example, it may be a ball of suitable diameter.
  • Crumple the dishwashing sponge, put it in the bag and insert it into the drain hole - the temporary plug is ready.
  • Cover the outlet with a plastic cup or several times a wet rag.

Do-it-yourself cork

How to make a bath plug? There are several options.

Method 1

To make a bath plug, you need a piece of wood:

  1. Remove the size of the diameter of the drain and transfer it to the bar.
  2. Cut the cork, sand it with sandpaper.
  3. Then you will need to process your plug with hydrophobic impregnation several times so that it does not swell from the water.

Important! From above, you need to make a hole and insert a cord or chain there, so that it is easier to pull the plug out of the hole.

Method 2

There is another option - make a plug for the bathroom of wine corks. To do this, connect several corks together, evenly cutting off at them those edges with which they will connect together.

Important! There should be no gaps in the middle of such a closure, otherwise there will be a water leak.

Method 4

Take any children's ball, cut it in half, insert a cord, chain or nylon thread and fill with mounting silicone. For beauty, you can decorate all this with a picture or a color insert.

Important! The main thing is that silicone is absolutely safe for human health.

Method 5

Silicone cork can be made in another way:

  1. Place the plastic bag in the drain hole and pour the silicone there.
  2. In the middle we place a chain or lace.
  3. We wait until the silicone dries, and then we take out the bag and remove the silicone.

Method 6

If you have a billiard ball lying around in your house, you can grind it down to the size of the drain hole and the impromptu plug is ready.
