How to sew a round pillow?

Today, the patchwork technique has become very popular. With its help, not only decorative pillows are made, but also other decorative elements, for example, plaids, tacks, bedspreads and much more.

Materials for work

In order to make a decorative patchwork pillow, you need to stock up on the following materials:

• Two pieces of fabric.

Important! Their color scheme should competently combine not only with interior items, but also with each other.

• Two large buttons of the same colors.
• Synthetic winterizer.
• Safety pins.
• Sewing machine.

Getting to work

Before you sew a round pillow with your own hands, patterns need to be prepared in advance. Now you can proceed with the described actions:

• After the pattern has been made, it is necessary to cut exactly 12 cone-shaped sectors from each color of the material.
• Fold sectors of the first and second colors with each other, stitch them along adjacent edges.
• Repeat this procedure for each sector. As a result, you have 12 connected elements.
• Take 3 elements and sew them together so that the alternation of colors is observed. Repeat until 4 semicircles with alternating sectors are obtained.
• Connect the two semicircles and flash so that in the end you get a circle whose sectors alternate with each other.
• Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the semicircles to get two base circles.
• Iron back seams so that they are almost not noticeable.

Important! Do not be afraid if the middle of the circles is not perfectly even - the button prepared by you closes all these minor errors.

• Fold the circles together, facing each other, chop them with safety pins and sew a round pillow with your own hands on a sewing machine along the edge of the circle.

Important! Leave one sector unflashed - through it, the pillow will be filled with padding polyester.

• Unscrew the pillow, then start gently stuffing it with a padding polyester through the hole left - there should be the same amount of stuffing in each corner.
• Carefully sew up an almost finished product.
• Armed with a thread with a needle, pierce the product exactly in the middle. Sew as tight as possible on each side of the product with a large button.

Important! Try to keep the buttons pressed against the pillow, forming a slight bulge - so your product will look more original.

• Securely tighten the thread.

Method 2

There is another original way, following which you can make a round pillow.

Materials

For further work, you should stock up on some materials:

• Two colors of “rich” fabric such as silk, velvet or satin - such materials are very beautifully draped. Colors should be combined with the interior of the room and with each other.
• Two suitable large buttons.
• Sewing machine.
• Needle, a strong thread.

Working process

So, you stocked up with all the necessary materials. Now it's time to get started:

• Prepare two rectangles of prepared fabric in different colors. Their sizes are 121 by 19 cm.
• Stitch these rectangular pieces together on the longer side on both sides, then connect the short ones.

Important! Do not forget that in the short seam you need to leave a hole through which the synthetic winterizer will be stuffed.

• Fill a synthetic winterizer into the product so that it takes the form of a wheel. The more stuffing, the more magnificent and softer the pillow will be.
• Sew the hole left. To sew a pillow with a button in the center completely, it remains to do quite a bit.
• Take a thick and strong thread, insert it into the needle and lay out the stitch stitches along the inside of the circle. Pull the thread, fasten it.
• There will be a small hole in the center - it must be closed on both sides with large buttons.

• The basic set of sewing tools.

Manufacture

The course of work is much easier if you compare it with other master classes:

• Before you sew a round pillow, you need to make a pattern. To do this, draw a circle using a prepared plate or compass.
• Attach the cut out pattern to the double folded fabric and cut out the details, paying attention to the pattern (if any) and the longitudinal threads.
• Fold two circles inside out, chop them with English pins at the edges, leaving a hole to insert the pillow itself into it.
