Sew a tutu skirt

This is the easiest option for tailoring a skirt for a doll, which even a child can do. To do this, you will need:

• A small section of light tulle or organza;
• Ribbon or thin braid;
• Needle;
• Scissors;
• Threads in color.

Once all the materials have been prepared, you can proceed to the direct manufacture of a tutu skirt. The sequence of actions is as follows:

1. Cut the flap of fabric so that its width is equal to the length of the future product. As for the length of the flap, it directly depends on the number of folds and the splendor of the future skirt. The more magnificent it is, the, accordingly, the length of the flap should be longer.
2. Having retreated a couple of millimeters from the edge, make a small lower seam from above. Sew the entire stock in this way.
3. Pull the edge of the thread and reassemble. Fasten everything with a knot.

Before you sew a skirt for a doll with your own hands, you should prepare all the necessary materials. To do this, you will need:

1. A doll about 45 centimeters in size;
2. Organza or tulle for a petticoat;
3. A piece of dense fabric for the skirt;
4. Velcro
5. Sewing machine;
6. Needles;
7. Threads in color;
8. Scissors.

Important! Pay attention to the fact that such a skirt is not washable.

The procedure is as follows:

• Measure the waist of the doll that you will sew the skirt.
• Cut from the main fabric a strip equal in width to the doll’s waist, multiplied by 4. The height of the fabric strip should be 10 centimeters.

Important! If you want to hem the edges of a future skirt, you should add a couple more centimeters to the height of the strip.

• Cut the same strip of organza or tulle 5 centimeters high.
• Cut a strip of fabric for the belt with a width of 8 centimeters and a length equal to the waist of the doll, to which you need to add 5 centimeters.
• Treat one of the sides of the strip, which is intended for the belt, with an overlock or zigzag seam. Fold it in half and iron it well.
• Turn each end of this strip inward and sew with a sewing machine.
• Sew along the top of the strip of main fabric and tulle with a simple overcast stitch. Pull them so that the width of the workpieces is equal to the width of the belt.
• Attach a tulle blank to the seamy edge of the belt with tailor pins.
• Sew the blank from tulle and from the main fabric to the belt of the future skirt.
• Sew Velcro around the edges.

Sew a skirt with warehouses for Barbie

First you need to take the following measurements from your doll:

1. Waist circumference (From);
2. Product Length (Du);
3. Thigh circumference (about);
4. The length of the yoke (DK);
5. The length of the finished product (Dpu).

Next, we proceed to the construction of the pattern, cutting and stitching the product. The sequence of actions is as follows:

• First, cut a belt with a length of + 8 centimeters and a width of 2.2 centimeters.
• Hide the yoke with a length of about + 10 centimeters and a width of DK + 2 allowances for the seams of the sewing.
• Hide the panel of the future product of absolutely arbitrary length.

Important! The parameters of the panel of the future product should not be more than 3.5xOb in length and DPu + seam allowance for stitching to the yoke in width.

• Next, mark the folds. To do this, mark the middle on the panel, and after - put marks every 3 centimeters.

Important! For a larger number of folds, you can reduce this interval to 1.5-2 centimeters, and for deeper folds, increase it to 4.

• Sweep the folds, fix them at the bottom, and iron them afterwards.
• On the yoke, make a horizontal line.

Important! In order to facilitate the process, fold the yoke in half and iron it well. Sew the needle along the finished bending line.

• On the yoke, make notes indicating 2 front and 2 rear tucks.
• Sew tucks, and then iron.
• Remove stitches that indicate the level of tucks.
• Take the belt to the yoke, while combining the front sides.
• Stitch the belt manually or with a sewing machine.
• Wrap the seam allowances with a belt, hem it from the wrong side.
• Bottom the bottom of the panel. If everything is done well and does not require any adjustment, use a sewing machine to sew them.

Important! Pay attention to the fact that the line of the middle of the yoke and the oncoming fold of the cloth should coincide.

• Cut off excess fabric and sew on Velcro.
