Wax is a complex organic compound that is reproduced in the process of vital activity of bees. It is secreted by melliferous individuals, or rather, by their special glands.

By its characteristics, wax is a solid substance with a honey smell from white to yellow-brown. At a temperature of 35 degrees it becomes plastic, and at 62-68 degrees it melts. Beeswax does not dissolve in glycerin and water, cold alcohol. But it is well soluble in fats, essential oils, gasoline, turpentine, paraffin, ether.
