We knit a round rug of t-shirts on our own

The first step is to carefully prepare yourself to quickly and easily knit a rug from old T-shirts:

• Suitable materials should be prepared, such as cotton items or fabrics similar to them.

Important! You can even use old leggings, the main thing is that the material is natural, without synthetics and lycra.

• For work, it is better to choose not too variegated segments, because the product may turn out to be too elaborate, simply inappropriate. But monophonic rugs look uninteresting, so it is better to choose 2-3 colors so that they are arranged in circles.

Necessary materials and devices:

• A few old t-shirts.
• Scissors.
• Plastic or bone crochet hook.
• Ruler.
• Soap.

In our work, we will use the air loop technique, so there should be no problems. The main thing is to follow the step by step instructions:

• T-shirts need to be turned into yarn by cutting them into long and moderately wide ribbons. Pre-cut the neck from them, having opened all the seams and edges to get individual parts. After that, you can start cutting the tape.

Important! Make sure that they are all the same, for this it is better to do markup in advance.

• Wrap the finished ribbons in the balls so that they do not interfere with each other.
• Very short ribbons can be tied together. Make small holes at the end of one tape, stepping back a couple of centimeters from the edge. The end of the other tape is threaded into the hole to form a bundle.
• Now weave the mat. Dial seven air loops, make a ring from them, then pull one column out of every second single crochet. Make the next circle already at a new level. Add a couple of columns again, tie them into the air ring.
• Scatter insert pieces of complementary colors.
• Fasten the last loop, tighten, hide the tail inside the product.

Making a bath mat from old things

Prepare for work:

• A couple of cotton t-shirts.
• Threads.
• Scissors.
• Strong fabric for the basis.
• Sewing machine.

Important! You can find a fabric basis, t-shirts, threads at home, so you won’t have to buy anything else. You can also use T-shirts or sweatshirts.

Getting to the production of:

• Gently and evenly cut the t-shirts into equal strips.
• Weave a long tourniquet to make a rug. Take three strips of different colors, weave them together.Fold one ribbon in half, determine the middle, sew the second ribbon to this place, then weave like a pigtail.

Important! To prevent wrinkles, try to avoid twisting the tapes.

• If some kind of tape ends, you need to connect it by simply sewing it at a right angle. Make diagonal line along the tape extension.
• In the same way, weave more braids so that they are enough to make a rug. In the process of weaving, you can use stationery clips. When the tourniquet reaches a sufficient length, fold it in a spiral.
• After making sure that there are enough ribbons, sew together their ends.
• Fold the rug in a tight spiral out of the blue, straighten it, align it well, sew its completed end to the previous turn.
• Connect the spiral. Starting from the center, sew each turn, moving in the direction of the tow with the previous turn using strong threads.

So the bath mat is ready!

Step-by-step creation of a rug looks something like this:

1. Prepare t-shirts by turning them into yarn. From the bottom of each item, mark every 5 cm with soap or chalk. On each side, leave 15 cm of untouched fabric. Cut the fabric along the marked lines. Then turn the t-shirt, diagonally cut the untouched 15 cm to get continuous threads.
2. Weave the braid from the finished threads. Take three threads of different colors, then tie their ends into a single knot. Further, according to the already known pattern, weave the most ordinary braid. If one thread is completed, tie the next one to it.
3. Twist the finished pigtail into the mat, do it as tight as possible so that holes do not form.
4. It remains only to sew a rug with a sewing machine.
