Do I need to wash things after purchase?

First you need to understand why this is happening. Agree, it’s very disappointing if a new thing quickly loses its appearance. Of course, someone will say that washing immediately after the purchase is not necessary, but any thing, whether it is the PBC or a new blouse, goes from the loom to the counter. The canvas is transported, stored in warehouses, and the finished product can also be stored in the sewing workshop for some time before it gets into the packaging. In such conditions, the ingress of the same dust is inevitable, therefore, after the purchase, any thing should be washed.

Why does it molt?

First of all, it all depends on the method of painting. How to fix the paint? The drawing is applied directly to the material or the fabric is woven from already dyed threads. Depending on the method of painting, the canvas will lose brightness faster or slower:

  • The durability of color for a long period of time is best ensured by dyeing directly the yarn itself before they begin to bind. When using this method, textiles will not only retain bright colors for a long time, but will also be softer, more comfortable and more pleasant to the touch.
  • When applying paint to the fabric, a juicy, bright pattern is obtained. At the same time, it is important that the pigments for dyeing are of high quality, otherwise - bedding will shed or even color your body during sleep.

Important! The latter method is used in the manufacture of textiles for sleeping with a 3D volumetric pattern.

But what if the purchase was not of the best quality? How to wash bed linen so that it does not fade? To preserve the look of your favorite kit, you need to follow some operating rules.

What to do before washing?

Textiles will not lose their color if you follow a few rules when washing. Before washing any thing, you need to check whether it paints or not. To do this, swipe a damp cloth over the fabric itself: if there are traces of dye on it, then such bedding should be subjected to additional protection.

Please note that if the paint comes off the fabric too intensely and in large quantities, then such bed textiles should not be used - the chemical components can be allergens on their own, which, in turn, can lead to health problems.

Important! Try dry cleaning services. They offer a procedure for fixing color so that the thing does not lose its paint for a long time.

Washing rules

Wash bedroom textiles separately from other clothes, observing the temperature regime. If bed linen loses its color and the picture fades, then it must be washed according to these rules:

  • Observe the thermal regime - the maximum temperature is 60 degrees, but still, it is recommended to wash in 40 degrees mode.
  • Use special detergents and gels for colored fabrics to help maintain color.
  • Put special washcloths in the drum of the washing machine. Their fibers absorb pigment, preventing staining of other things.
  • Add salt or vinegar to the powder compartment. But after such washing, it is necessary to start the machine at idle (washing without laundry) so that the appliance does not fail.

However, washing bedding with folk remedies is a controversial advice, because vinegar does not fix many paints, and it makes the fabric stiff.

Important! In vinegar water, it is better to wash things from which you need to remove unpleasant odors, for example, kitchen towels or a sports uniform.

And so that the linen does not fade during washing, there are several other ways.

Wash Methods

There are several ways to wash linens that lose color. All of them have one important rule - molting things are washed only separately. It is important not only to prevent the washing out of dyes, but also to preserve the textiles for a long time, and there are secrets for this.

Method 1

Check how much the bed linen sheds. If a little, then excess dye can be disposed of in the following way:

  1. Soak the laundry in warm water.
  2. Rinse.
  3. Soak again for 40 minutes.
  4. Rinse the dye and repeat the soaking until the excess pigment comes out of the fabric.
  5. At the end, wash the sheets with washing powder, following the recommendations for washing.

Method 2

If the tissue sheds quite strongly, then simple edible salt will come to the rescue. This natural, organic material perfectly removes dirt from linen and at the same time helps the paint to linger in the fabric. A visible result is achieved by following the following steps:

  1. Prepare a basin of warm water.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and a little washing powder.
  3. Soak the bedding in the resulting solution for half an hour.
  4. After that, wash by hand and rinse under clean water.

Important! This method is suitable for monophonic things, while colored ones do not recommend washing this way.

Method 3

It is known that vinegar has the ability to not only eliminate unpleasant odors, but also to fix the color of the fabric. So, follow these steps when washing clothes:

  1. Take a deep basin and pour water (not more than 40 degrees) into it, add washing powder.
  2. Soak the laundry for fifteen minutes, then wash with your hands.
  3. Next, make an vinegar solution - 5 tbsp. l to 7 liters of water.
  4. Rinse the bedding in this solution.
  5. Dry without spinning.

This is what needs to be done so that bedding is not painted.

Method 4

And here is another method using vinegar. But instead of rinsing, the sleeping set will need to be washed. Follow these steps:

  1. Heat the water and pour it into a deep basin.
  2. 3 tbsp of powder fall asleep there. l and vinegar 2 tbsp. l ..
  3. Dip the laundry in this solution and rub it lightly.
  4. After this, rinse the item in lukewarm water.

Important! You need to dry the laundry in the same way as in the previous method, without squeezing.

There are many washing methods, but they must be used with caution. It is very important to rinse the bedding correctly, which is subject to molting - this will determine how long the color remains.

Washing machine

Above, we talked about how to wash bedding by hand so that it does not fade, and there are rules for washing in a machine too:

  • Before you send the laundry to the washing machine, you need to soak it briefly in a solution of vinegar (4 liters of water, 2 tablespoons of powder and 3 tablespoons of vinegar).
  • Set the temperature to no more than 40 degrees.

Important! Shedding underwear is not squeezed out, smoothed with hands and hung to dry.

There are additional rules for moulting:

  • You can not use soda to handle things (whether soaking or rinsing).
  • Some materials cannot be machine washed at all - such nuances usually indicate labels or packages.

Rules for choosing bedding

If you know how to choose the right things, then later you can avoid many problems. For example, linen made of thick calico sheds less, as well as cotton.

If you are not sure whether the bedding will be dyed, then remember the fabric in your hand - a characteristic “crunch” will signal that there is excess dye in it. When buying such underwear, you must first wash it manually by rinsing pigments from the surface of the material. This must always be done before washing new bedding so that it does not fade already in the drum of the washing machine.

Important! Many are sure that the high price will automatically eliminate the problems with molting, but this is not so. Often prices are overpriced, and having bought an expensive bedroom set with juicy and vivid pictures, you can not be sure that this is not a cheap fake, with which the picture will come off after the first wash.

Be extremely careful when washing new things, it is better to make a couple of extra movements for the first time and protect yourself from damage to products, than to think later on how to restore the color of faded linen.
