What can be used to clean windows at home?

In order to prepare an effective and environmentally friendly means for washing windows with your own hands, you need:

  • ammonia;
  • food vinegar;

What is ammonia?

Ammonia can be bought at any pharmacy. It is sold in the form of a solution in small bottles. When you open the bottle, you will smell quite pungent. For this detergent you will need ammonia and glycerin. On sale you can find ammonia in different packaging. Sometimes it’s just a bubble with a twisting cap, and sometimes at the end there’s something like a cone, like nose drops. In the first case, you will need a pipette.

What to do with all this:

  1. Pour a glass of water (approximately 200 g) into a small jar (preferably a glass one).
  2. Add 5 drops of ammonia to the water.
  3. Pour a drop of glycerin there.
  4. Pour it all into the spray bottle.

Important! Glycerin perfectly protects the glass from freezing, so this composition simply has no equal in order to wash the windows before winter.

Option 3

This tool is suitable for washing any glass and crystal surfaces, and it is done very simply:

  1. Pour 2 tablespoons of vinegar into the spray bottle.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of water.

Other detergents

It is most convenient to wash ammonia windows, but it may happen that it is not at hand. But other substances can also help you out - vinegar, starch, alcohol, lemon juice.

Option 1

For a simple and effective window cleaner, you will need:

  • 2 glasses of water;
  • a quarter cup of vinegar;
  • a quarter cup of alcohol, regular or technical;
  • 1 tablespoon of starch.

With vinegar and alcohol, everything is clear, but why add starch to the detergent? You can, of course, do without it. But starch removes dirt very well, which always stays in bumps.
