Design Features

A typical mistake of many home craftsmen is an attempt to make a thing at minimal cost, without considering safety issues or the convenience of the design. Here are the basic requirements that your product must meet:

  • Good ventilation. The shelf should not cover the device from above and from the sides. If the structure is closed, you need to drill ventilation holes from above and below.
  • The right choice of placement. Think of it in such a way that the dimensions of the kitchen appliance do not create inconvenience for the hostess. It is possible that if you place the product on the table, it will become inconvenient for cooking and eating.
  • Materials - this is not an article to save! Choose for the manufacture of only the highest quality and durable. The microwave oven is massive enough, so make sure that the loading capacity of the shelf is sufficient.

Important! You can use the option for lazy people - to purchase a shelf for a TV and install a microwave oven. Oddly enough, but if you choose the right place to place the equipment, it turns out very beautifully, conveniently and safely.

Universal option

How to make a microwave shelf with your own hands to make it suitable for any kitchen? The given option is the most universal and uncomplicated. You place the microwave device on the wall, without violating the overall design of the kitchen. The most elementary option is a single-tier shelf mounted on the wall with the help of corners.

Materials for work

For work you will need such tools:

  • 3 furniture panels 45x60 cm, with an edge.
  • Mounting corners 20x30 cm.
  • Metal rod with a diameter of 22 mm, with a length of 2.2 m.
  • 16 flanges with fasteners.
  • Drill with nozzles or screwdriver.
  • Hammer drill.
  • Pencil and tape measure for marking.

All of the materials listed can be purchased at a furniture store or at a store that sells furniture fittings.

Procedure

The size of the future product is determined based on the usual dimensions of the microwave - 50x41x30 cm. Here's what you have to do:

  1. Mark with a pencil the centers of fastening of flanges. The distance from each of the corners is 3x3 cm.
  2. Drill 22 mm holes in the center shelf. On the same plane, attach flanges on both sides.
  3. Cut the metal rod in such a way that 4 identical segments of 65-70 mm are obtained.
  4. Secure the rods to the flange using clamping screws. Tighten the screws very tight. For reasons of aesthetics, make sure they face the wall.

The single-level design is even simpler. It will consist of only one plane. Its size is maintained a little more than the dimensions of the furnace itself. From the side on which the shelf will be attached to the wall, firmly screw the 2 corners for mounting.Fasten the shelf precisely to these corners, using self-tapping screws.

Important! Plexiglass construction is made in a similar way, which will look great in a “high-tech" kitchen.
