Gasket

Stuffing box

With stuffing box packing, the breakdown of which leads to leakage from the tap, the repair is somewhat more complicated:

1. First, you should try to tighten the gland - unscrewing the axle box for this is not always necessary.
2. A completely small nut is screwed onto the pin on which the valve handle is worn itself, at the very base of the crane-axle, which has a square notch at the base. It must be carefully twisted in a clockwise direction.
3. If this does not help, unscrew the compression ring of the stuffing box, wrap stuffing box around the valve stem and screw the ring back, tightening it tightly.

As a result of such manipulations, the optimal repair of the faucet in the bathroom will be carried out and the leakage from your tap must stop.

Half turn valves

About the maintainability of this mixer, the following can be said - on a half-turn valve, it is allowed to change exclusively gaskets that should keep water from flowing near the tap itself.

Important! All water flows in such crane boxes are controlled by special ceramic inserts, which, unfortunately, cannot be repaired.

If you think about it, it’s good, because you don’t have to bother with the repair for a long time:

1. They seized the old crane box.
2. Get a similar one.
3. Reinstall it.

That’s all that can be said about fixing a half turn mixer tap.

Joysticks

Not much more can be said about the repair of the joystick mixer in the bathroom, which controls the flow of water using a special ceramic cartridge. Its full repair comes down to the banal replacement of this mixer assembly. The cartridge changes relatively simply:

1. To begin, first unscrew the screw under the handle, remove the joystick itself.
2. After that, unscrew the decorative cap, inside of which there is a nut, it holds the cartridge itself.
3. Unscrew it, remove the cartridge, thoroughly clean the seat, install a completely new cartridge.
4. Then put the whole thing back in the reverse disassembly sequence.

In this way, the single lever mixer is repaired.

Simply put, everything should be very clear here, the repair of faucets in the bathroom of these types basically comes down either to the ordinary replacement of seals and gaskets, or to the installation of a completely new water control mechanism.

Water flows under the mixer nut

This error is quite common, and it can be caused by two things:

• failed gasket;
• bursting nut.

Important! If the mixer just flows from under the nut of the mixer, you must have pulled the nuts, as a result of which the gasket was destroyed or the eccentrics themselves were installed incorrectly.

Leak was detected under the spout nut

If this problem occurs, then this is a completely correct indicator of the wear of the gasket. Unscrew the nut, replace the rubber rings, and then install the nozzle in its place - the leak must stop.

Leaking shower hose

As a rule, the appearance of such a leak tells us that the inside of the shower hose, which consists of rubber, has already worn out quite a bit. Often, these events are preceded by a deformation of the metal braid.

It is possible to repair such a hose, but in order to surely not have such a problem, better buy a new one, because after repair the hose will already have the wrong original aesthetic appearance.
