What do you need for work?

Drawings of wood cutters (sizes and types) are on the Internet in large quantities. To make an amateur master’s kit yourself, you will need:

• Grinder for cutting knives.
• Grinder.
• The cutter is circular.
• Jigsaw.
• Sandpaper.

Important! The optimal material for the tool is tool steel.

In addition to the tool, you will need materials:

• 25 mm wooden block.
• Circles for the cutter.
• Drills for carving.

Blanks

Sharpening

Handle manufacturing

A handle is necessary in order to make wood work as convenient as possible. For the manufacture of pens use a special machine.

Important! You can also plan it by hand, sanded with emery.

Docking handle and knife

A metal blade is inserted into the handle. For this, a hole is drilled in it with a depth of 2-3 cm.

Important! To make the joining as efficient as possible, a needle-shaped sharpening is made at the end of the metal billet.

Snap ring

Its purpose is to fix the knife in the handle. The installation order of the snap ring is as follows:

1. A contour is completely cut out on the handle, which fully corresponds in diameter to the circlip.
2. The next stage is the manufacture of thread and the fixing of the crown on the thread.

At the end of these manipulations, the handle is crimped, and the working part is securely fixed inside the handle.

Grinding the finished product

This is the final point. To bring the blade used ordinary ceramics or a small bar used for sharpening. Sharpening the cutter is performed perpendicular, using a small amount of engine oil.
