Without a cabinet, there will be nowhere to put all shampoos, ointments, foams, gels and other accessories. But what is the problem? Is it not possible to buy such furniture in any store? The bottom line is that it is much cheaper and more interesting to make a cabinet in the bathroom with your own hands. How exactly - we will tell you about this in this article.

Hinged furniture in the bathroom

A very convenient beech construction can be installed in any bathroom, which is made in dark colors. Furniture made of natural durable wood is much less susceptible to moisture and looks very nice in any room. You can also add a few words about environmental friendliness, compared even with the same chipboard products.

In the upper part you can install a small lamp, and in the middle - a mirror and several shelves for all accessories. In width, only a mirror should be equal to about half of the structure, and when the latter is shifted, it will be possible to access part of the middle shelves. At the bottom of our cabinet, you can put a special shelf for soap and other small items. Very important in the installation of such objects is symmetry.

In order to make a cabinet in the bathroom hinged with your own hands, you should choose the right parameters:

• Depth - 15 cm.
• Width - 80 cm.
• Height - 120 cm.

Important! Since the whole process will be controlled by you, there is the possibility of choosing any other dimensions that will suit your particular needs. You can simply measure the distance above the sink and adjust the height of the furniture.

Size selection

Before starting the assembly, it is necessary to conduct a series of measurements. The cabinet itself is not something complicated, therefore, the calculations will be simple. Vertical walls should correspond to the height of the cabinet, and horizontal shelves should be slightly less than the width of the entire structure, somewhere in the sum of the dimensions of the side supports.

Important! The width is chosen so that it is identical to the depth of the furniture. The shift of the intermediate shelves can be done within 15-20 mm.

Manufacture

To create a cabinet in the bathroom with your own hands, you must follow this instruction:

• We take boards or parts of the furniture panel.
• We will remove parts from the blanks in accordance with the selected dimensions.
• We mark up the places where the shelves will dock.
• We are looking for a milling cutter with a parallel type of stop and a straight cutter with diameters that will be equal to the thickness of the mirror and the protective glass of the lamp. The ideal value is 4 mm.
• We make special grooves on the side supports that are designed for glass, and on the board - create grooves for the mirror. We also recommend creating one guide groove on one of the shelves.
• We install the lamp on the back plane of the cabinet and make two holes with a drill. Try on a component.
• We assemble the compartment to accommodate the lamp - markup and make holes for dowel.

Important! First, mark the ends of the workpiece, and then make holes at ⅔ of the depth of the dowel.

• We shift the centers of the circles of the holes to the compatible elements.

Important! During drilling, we use a special limiter, so as not to create through holes.

• In the same way, we manufacture and assemble the lower unit, the algorithm of action is identical to the previous one.
• We use glue to lubricate all joints and fix the product with clamps.
• We drill holes, the diameter of which will correspond to the dimensions of the dowel, in order to secure the sides.
• We install the conductors in the ends just made for the lamp box and shift the centers of the holes to the side surface, making holes to the side plane for fixing.
• Using dowels and glue, we provide fixation of the side parts with the upper and lower blocks.
• We create a hole for the wires for the electric lamp and make markings for the shelf holders.

Important! For marking, you can use a stencil of hardboard or plywood. Drive one nail at the desired distance at four points and transfer all the centers of the holes for the shelf holders.

• Again we make holes, not forgetting to observe their depth.
• We install shelf holders and try on the components themselves.
• Sand the entire structure with sandpaper.
• We put the rail on the glass for the lamp.

Important! To avoid cracks, use a drill with a diameter of 2 mm.

• We check the correct assembly and evaluate the quality of the work done.
