Residents of the modern city have to find an effective remedy for wasps, as well as hornets, much less often than, for example, an effective drug against cockroaches. More often than not, summer house lovers, and especially beekeepers, think about what could be poisoned with hornets, since only a couple of dozen hornets can completely destroy a multi-thousand bee family within an hour or two.

A remedy for wasps and hornets can come in handy when especially arrogant insects dare to build their nest in the middle of utility rooms or in significant proximity to this room. Such close proximity to insects can be simply dangerous for a person.

Important! Given that wasp stings, even single ones, can sometimes lead to severe intoxication of the body, and sometimes even death, it is necessary to destroy the nests of such insects as quickly as possible. You can get rid of wasps in the house with special insecticides or mechanically.

Insecticides for stinging insects

Not all insecticidal products sold in the nearest hardware or garden stores can kill a wasp. When choosing a drug, it is advisable to focus on innovative compositions against insects, most of which have a very wide spectrum of action.

Among the multitude of universal tools, it is necessary to highlight some that are completely suitable for use in practice:

• “Karbofos” is a fairly safe and inexpensive preparation based on the organophosphorus substance of the same name, which is often used in the fight against cockroaches, bedbugs and Colorado potato beetles. Including, this remedy for wasps is effective. Dilute it in water - it can be sold both as a liquid in cans and as a powder in bags.
• Chlorpyrifos insecticides have a contact effect. On the basis of such a connection, such products as “Argan”, “Get”, “Dursban”, “Xulat”, “Dobrohim Micro”, “Fosban”, “Sinuzan”, “Tzipi Lux” and others are produced. All of these listed drugs can also be used as anti-wasp drugs if you adhere to the concentration specified in the instructions.
• “The executioner” is also an incredibly effective pesticide with an unimaginably wide spectrum of action. The amount of the drug that will be required to prepare the poison for wasps, in most cases is limited to literally 2-3 bottles.
• “Tetrix” is an effective professional means for pest control. The drug is produced by Dutch factories, but is available in bulk in the CIS countries as well. This remedy for wasps is mainly sold only to professional insect killing services. In small quantities, its acquisition can be very problematic.
• In many hardware stores, aerosol preparations such as “Raid”, “Raptor”, “Dichlorvos Neo”, “Combat” are sold, but they must be used directly only when in contact with the nest. It will not be possible to get rid of wasps with aerosols right away due to the specifics of the technology: first, the agent is sprayed from the bottle into a plastic bag, then it is quickly pulled onto the nest and tied.

Important! Absolutely any poison to fight wasps should be used incredibly accurately. Do not forget that these flying insects are able to very actively defend their nest by attacking with their entire family.

If you find a nest, it is better to destroy it in the dark, when insects are inactive.

We are looking for a nest and apply aerosol

These insects can create their nests in different places, therefore, it is necessary to act differently to get rid of wasps.

On the tree

The first variant of the possible location of the nest is a tree.

In this case, proceed as follows:

1. Spray or pour poison into the bag.
2. Put it on the hornet’s nest from bottom to top.
3. Quickly tie the neck of the bag in the place where the nest is attached to the branch on which it hangs - this is done so that its inhabitants can not fly apart.

Under the ceiling in the house

The second option for the possible location of the nest is right on the ceiling of your outbuilding.

In this case, the technology is almost exactly the same, the main difference is only that the garbage bag does not need to be tied, it is glued with tape to the ceiling.

In a hollow tree or in a hole

In such cases, proceed as follows:

1. Insecticides are quickly poured into these holes.
2. The entrances to these holes are immediately closed by tow, synthetic winterizer or rags. These products are also slightly saturated with poison.

Alternative tools and strategies

There are many options for destroying nests, but many of them are compatible with an unusually serious risk. Despite this, there are ways that are harmless to humans - the means that were used by our grandparents. You can take it out of your arsenal, perhaps just one of these methods, you will be able to get rid of wasps.

Water

Some advise a rather inhumane way out - boiling water. Douse the nest, getting close to it.

You can use cold water. To do this, you need to get to the aspen den with a bucket of water and immediately immerse a nest in it. But one can hardly imagine how this can be done if the abode of winged insects is located either in a corner or under the ceiling. In addition, not everyone has a desire to climb under the roof, a height of 4 meters, with a bucket of hot or cold water.

Gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel

Any of these liquids is poured into a conventional garden spray gun, after which the hornet's shelter is abundantly sprayed. Winged insects must die, and then you can easily clean their nest.

But there is a minus in this method: the proposed substances (gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel) are highly flammable liquids. And the places where flying insects can make their nests - a house or a bathhouse, are made of wood.

Important! There are observations that kerosene no longer acts on wasps as before. No one knows for certain why this is happening, but there are speculations for the reason that the wasps mutated, that is, adapted to it.

A vacuum cleaner

You can remove wasps from the shelter using a conventional vacuum cleaner. But again, how to do this quickly so that most of the insects do not defend their homes and bite you is hard to imagine.

Safety precautions

Going to the so-called war with wasps, in no case should we forget about self-defense. The bites of these insects can cause an unimaginable threat to your health and even life. If you have a predisposition to allergic reactions, but until then you do not even guess that you have it, then even one or two bites will be enough for: suffocation, swelling and even to send the victim to intensive care.

If you intend to destroy a hornet’s nest, take care of appropriate clothing for self-defense:

• clothes made of thick fabric, it is advisable to use clothes with a hood;
• thick forged or rubber gloves;
• the device to protect your face is either a mosquito net or something else.
