The mechanical method of controlling lice

Mechanical methods include such actions as:

  1. An effective, but not the easiest way to remove lice and nits, is combing hair. It is important that not every comb or comb will do you any good service and will help in the fight against parasites. You need to arm yourself with a comb with very small teeth, about 0.2 mm, so that they can capture nits and lice. Before the procedure, prepare a light, preferably white rag, about which you will need to wipe the lice and nits so that they do not clog the teeth of the comb.
  2. The most radical mechanical method is to shave off the entire hairline infected with lice and nits. It is appropriate if you are absolutely not afraid of the lack of hair on your head, and if you are the owner of excellent hair and are not ready to part with it, give preference to other methods we have proposed.

Chemical method

Lice - treatmentNowadays, there are no problems with the purchase of chemicals for pediculosis. You can find them in each of the nearest pharmacies and see them on supermarket shelves. The most common ones are:

  • Pair Plus;
  • Medifox;
  • Pediculen Ultra;
  • To here.

The principle of action of drugs and their use:

  1. Pair Plus - this effective spray contains 3 effective insecticides, the effect of which kills lice in one application. But so powerful it acts exclusively on adults, which can not be said about nits.
  2. Medifox is a drug that contains the strongest insecticide and is contraindicated for children under 16.
  3. Pediculen Ultra - this product fights against lice and nits equally effectively, but due to its “wild” composition it can cause allergic reactions. You should take a test on a small area of the skin, especially when it comes to children.
  4. Here from lice - a drug that does not contain poison for parasites and scalp. That is why he has no age-related contraindications. This is a liquid silicone spray that blocks the breathing of nits and lice. After use, it is necessary to comb out the parasites of the dead in the hairline with a comb.

Important! Strictly adhere to the instructions of the drug of your choice for the treatment of lice in children and adults, do not stop at the result. Repeat the procedure after a week, and then again after 2-3 weeks. This will help you prevent re-illness if any part of the individuals survived.

Treatment of lice with folk remedies at home

Folk remedies for parasites can also help you in the fight against unpleasant insects. For this purpose fit:

  • kerosene;
  • table vinegar;
  • hellebore water;
  • tar soap;
  • decoction and essential oil of tansy.

Important! When a problem such as pediculosis occurs, experts advise using two methods at the same time, that is, combine chemical preparations or folk remedies, and combing after using them. This will give a more effective result.

Features of the use of folk remedies

When you purchase a medicine in a pharmacy, you will definitely have instructions attached to it with an exact description of the actions, dosage and proportions appropriate for age.You can read what the drug affects, what the consequences of an overdose will be, and how to act if it gives an undesirable result. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same about traditional medicine. If you are going to use alternative methods in the treatment of pediculosis in yourself, your children and your loved ones, think about the consequences that may occur if improperly applied.

Do I need to use kerosene in the treatment of lice?

Kerosene is not even a cosmetic product - it is fuel, after which there may be the following consequences:

  • chemical scalp burn;
  • chronic contact dermatitis of the head;
  • partial or complete hair loss;
  • brittle hair and dry scalp.

Important! It is worth considering whether you need such treatment results or still give preference to other methods of dealing with lice.

How to get rid of lice with vinegar?

Compared to kerosene, vinegar is much more affordable, but the fact that it is an acid cannot be neglected. The effect will be the same as in the case of kerosene, but in a lighter form. If you still decide to use vinegar, then do it according to the following rules:

  1. Spread vinegar or kerosene evenly over your head and hair.
  2. Wrap your head in a plastic bag, tie a towel over it.
  3. Hold two hours.
  4. Rinse with shampoo under running water.

Important! These funds do not harm lice and nits at all. They contribute to the easy peeling of nits from the hair and slow their development.

How to use hellebore in the treatment of lice?

Chemeritsa is a poisonous plant from the extract of which hellebore water is made. It has no contraindications for use for children.

Important! Before use, be sure to read the instructions and contraindications!

Lice - treatmentMode of application:

  1. Wash your hair with shampoo first.
  2. Squeeze the curls and remove excess water from them.
  3. Shake the bottle well.

  5. Wrap with a towel for 30 minutes.
  6. After the procedure, wash your hands with soap.
  7. Take off the towel.
  8. Rinse your head under running water.

Important! After the whole process, you need to take a comb with a suitable tooth size and comb the hair, thereby removing nits and lice from them. If you come across still living individuals, be sure to repeat the procedure. But the next use of hellebore water is possible in a week.

How to use tar soap for pediculosis

Tar soap is used even in cosmetology. Tar itself has a wound healing and moisturizing effect. Soap does not harm either an adult or a child. Tar soap has a rather specific smell, but unfortunately has very little effect on lice. Accordingly, act within your preferences and material capabilities.

Important! Tar soap is completely harmless to nits, so you should not use it if available.

You can get rid of lice with this folk method like this:

  1. Wet your hair.
  2. Put soap on wet locks.
  3. Wrap your head in a plastic bag.
  4. Wrap with a towel.
  5. Soak for 40 minutes.
  6. Rinse off with water.
  7. Comb the hairline with a comb of lice.

Important! In two weeks, the parasites must die. With long-term use of tar soap you can get:

  • dry skin;
  • fragility of hair;
  • the appearance of dandruff.

The effectiveness of a decoction of herbs and essential oil of tansy in the fight against lice

Decoctions of herbs aimed at scaring insects, therefore, are completely unjustified in the fight against pediculosis. Lice may be unpleasant, but they have nowhere to run from their heads, let alone nits that are attached to their hair! In folk medicine, this option still exists. If you, despite the low performance, decided to use it, follow this instruction:

  1. Prepare a decoction - 1 liter of water per 50 g of tansy.
  2. Apply the decoction to your hair 3 times a day.
  3. Take a comb from lice and comb through their hair after each application of the broth.

Important! A decoction may not remove lice even within a month.You need to repeat the procedure until you achieve the destruction of all parasites.

Prevention of re-infection

Do not stop at a set of procedures after curing pediculosis. Take such measures to prevent re-infection:

  1. Wash all linen and personal items of the patient at high water temperature.
  2. That which is not washable, wrap in polyethylene for 3-4 days.
  3. Carefully review the hair of all people who have had direct contact with the patient.

The following actions can be added to the prevention of lice:

  • bypass people who clearly do not follow personal hygiene;
  • use only your hygiene products and wear your hats;
  • do not come close to people with pronounced symptoms - combing, lice and nits on the hair;
  • stay away from people with no fixed abode;
  • visit children who attend school or kindergarten more often;
  • exclude accidental sex.

Important! If you have already healed pediculosis and know firsthand what this disease is, do not neglect the prevention of reinfection. The human body does not produce immunity against this parasite.

Advice:

  1. It will be more correct to combine both the chemical and mechanical method of treating pediculosis - this union will give a quick and high-quality result.
  2. The process of hatching from nits to mature lice takes about three weeks. If a month after treatment, not a single parasite is detected, then you coped with the task and can live in peace.
