Integrated shower

A convenient and practical built-in shower is a relatively new type of communication, so people are cautious about this innovation. They motivate their fears that in the event of a breakdown, access to components will be closed. In fact, this is an extremely simple and reliable device. Consider the possible options and try to figure out how not to make a mistake when choosing a product.

What makes a quality model different?

Regardless of which model you choose, you need to check whether it meets the basic requirements. With this approach, even without much knowledge in this area, you can buy a reliable, durable and beautiful design. Here is this set of requirements.

Verified manufacturing company

It is advisable to familiarize yourself with manufacturers and the characteristics of the products before purchase. You can use the services of a sales consultant or ask people professionally involved in the installation and maintenance of such systems. You will receive competent advice and find out which systems are the most unpretentious and durable when used.

Sound materials

The durability of hidden mixers largely depends on what materials they are made of:

  • The most budget models are made of silumin (powder alloy of aluminum), however, you can not call them durable.
  • Brass products are more expensive, but they are many times more reliable. In addition, they are corrosion resistant.

Quality coating

On sale you can see products with different types of coatings - chrome (matte and glossy), gilded, bronze, imitation of various natural materials, in particular, ornamental stone. It is important that the coating is combined in style with the interior of the bathroom and is of high quality - without stains and other defects.

Required Functionality

Studying the functionality of products, you need to choose the model that meets your requirements in the best way. To buy multifunctional equipment and not to use the available opportunities means to spend your money irrationally.

Important! Before you even begin to study the equipment market, invite a specialist to advise him on the optimal type of built-in equipment. It happens that you can’t install an embedded system (as an option - it will be too expensive).

System classification

Built-in shower structures vary in type of system and purpose. Such configurations of shower systems for flush mounting are distinguished:

  • Hygienic. This is an easy option. It is suitable for a small bathroom, where there is no way to put a bidet. These are 1-2 adjustable nodes on the wall plus a flexible hose with a watering can attached to the holder. Such a design is very inexpensive. In any case, much cheaper than a regular bidet.

Important! The hygienic shower system occupies the minimum of space, which is very important for a small bathroom in a city apartment.

  • Watering can located on the wall. Often, a stationary “rain” is additionally equipped with a watering can with a flexible hose. This is an equally good solution for a bathtub, and for a separate shower compartment.
  • Ceiling construction. This solution is often used by companies engaged in the production of showers. However, this solution is quite acceptable for a normal room.It is important to choose the length of the bar so that it is not placed too high. Otherwise, the built-in shower will splash heavily.
  • Rain shower. This is a very original version of the built-in design, which is a panel placed on a wall or ceiling, creating jets that resemble tropical rain. Due to the fact that the watering can is simply huge, jets of water cover a person completely.

Important! The impressions and energy boost from such a water treatment are simply wonderful! The tropical system, equipped with backlight, looks beautiful.

Built-in shower in the wall - installation procedure

Installing a “shower from the wall” is much more difficult than an open structure. But the result obtained is worth it. All work can be divided into 2 stages:

  • Laying communications.
  • Connection to the installed communications of all system components.

Pipeline laying has its own specifics:

  • In order to hide the pipes, you need to ditch the walls. First of all, the communications are brought to the mixer, which regulates the temperature of the water. At the same time, the faucet and shower head are not located in a single unit, but separately.
  • Wall chipping is a rather laborious process, and you cannot do without a special tool. A grinder with a metal disc or a perforator is best suited for this purpose.

Important! When strobing, a lot of dust is formed, so you need to work in a respirator and goggles. If you find this work too complicated, you can hire professionals. At the very least, you will have a guarantee that everything is planned with maximum accuracy and without errors.

  • The stage following the gating is the laying of the pipeline. Here you need to pay special attention to the quality of the joints, as they will be hidden in the wall. In general, the “golden rule” applies: the fewer the connections, the better the construction.
  • The built-in mixer is a block monolith. The only replacement part is the cartridge. To replace the cartridge, breaking the wall is not required. It is enough to remove the outdoor control unit and the unit can be easily dismantled for replacement or maintenance. The design is exceptionally maintainable. Actually, the whole repair of the built-in shower is to replace the cartridge. The remaining parts are a monolithic block.
  • To bring water from the mixing unit to the built-in shower head, metal-plastic or copper pipes are most often used. These are the most reliable and durable options.

Important! For connection, fittings of increased strength are used. You can’t save on them, since it is the connections that are the “weak link” of the design.

  • If the spout is installed in the ceiling, it is possible to avoid strobing of floor slabs by constructing a moisture-resistant grade drywall box. The same box is used for laying communications. This is a good solution, for example, for a “tropical” system. In this case, ditching the ceiling under a giant watering can is a very time-consuming task.

Important! If you install a hygienic built-in shower, the built-in system provides for the initial settings of the pressure and water temperature. It remains only to open the tap and use the system.
