How to repair a hose from a vacuum cleaner?

Depending on the location and nature of the damage, there are several ways to save your hose from a vacuum cleaner, so as not to waste money on an unplanned purchase of expensive household appliances.

Camera repair from a bicycle wheel

If the hose was damaged in the middle, then it can be repaired using a regular bicycle camera. To do this, perform the following sequence of actions:

  1. Estimate the degree of damage and cut off the length of the chamber you need, after checking the rest of the part for integrity.
  2. The camera should be intact and not pass air, otherwise - there will be a loss of power.
  3. Using a camera, connects the two ends of your hose.
  4. If it’s hard for you to pull the camera over the hose, you can resort to using soap - grease the ends of the corrugated tube. This will help you to break the damaged part without much effort and further damage.
  5. After a successful connection, unscrew the ends of the chamber and wipe dry the entire surface of the corrugation.
  6. Spread these spots with “Moment” glue and wrap the camera back.

Important! Glued places on top can be wrapped with electrical tape or tape - for greater reliability.

Repair at a break at the base

Depending on which fitting the hose comes off, you must:

  1. Trim the item in a torn place.
  2. To clear the union of pollution and the remains of the broken hose.
  3. Connect the corrugated tube to the fitting. In this case, do not use soap when connecting. Since the hose bends during operation, it may fall out of the fitting.
  4. The corrugated tube from the vacuum cleaner has stiffening ribs - for efficient and convenient use. Therefore, you need to screw glue or electrical tape into the fitting or into the base of the housing.

Important! If there is a problem with the element breaking off at both ends, then to repair the vacuum cleaner hose, you should disassemble the mechanism:

  • Using a screwdriver, pick out the remaining fragments of the plastic sleeve into which the damaged element was inserted.
  • Next, glue the part with epoxy or sealant.
  • Allow some time to dry before use.

Redecorating

It happens that due to the low quality of the material, the hose begins to siphon in some places - cracks and small tears appear in it. These adverse spots can be corrected with a medical patch or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation.

In order to fix the hose from the vacuum cleaner with such means:

  • Put a patch from a medical patch with the insulation carefully wound over the PVC on the break points. You wind it very tightly, with a small margin on both sides, because the corrugated tube can let air through.
  • It is possible in places where cracks appeared, to gently cut a rigid base and wind the hose on top of each other. For density rewind with tape or electrical tape.
