Repair of Bosch dishwashers

Dishwashers from well-known manufacturers work long and reliably. However, they also periodically fail to separate elements. Do you always need to contact a service center or can you fix any problems yourself? We will now discuss what elementary repairs of Bosch dishwashers, as well as units of other well-known brands, are.

What is she like?

The designs of dishwashers of different brands are largely similar, and there are problems that can arise in any of them, regardless of whether it is made in Germany, in Sweden or in another country. Therefore, first you need to deal with the design.

The dishwasher was invented in order to make life easier for the housewife, because washing dishes by hand takes a very long time. In this case, the device seems quite simple. However, in reality, the unit is not so simple at all, it consists of many elements, and if one of them fails, the machine will also start to work incorrectly or stop washing dishes at all.

What are dishwashers?

According to the installation method, dishwashers are divided into:

  • built-in;
  • freestanding.

Important! The first option is more convenient in operation - the place for the unit is predetermined. However, repairing Bosch built-in dishwashers is more difficult because it is not always possible to quickly get to the right site.

Any dishwasher has:

  • a chamber for washing;
  • control Panel;
  • timer;
  • door;
  • door latch;
  • TEN, boiler or boiler;
  • hose for hot water;
  • hose outlet valve;
  • sprayers;
  • atomizer valve;
  • drain hose;
  • power cable;
  • Filters
  • motor;
  • water pump;
  • gasket.

The control panel serves to select operating modes:

  • strength of water flow;
  • pressure;
  • temperature.

A timer is needed to choose the time during which your dirty cups and plates turn into sparkling objects.

Important! Very often, housewives notice that over time, dishwashers do not wash dishes well. The main reasons and methods for their elimination, we considered in our separate article “Why is the dishwasher washing the dishes poorly?”

Principle of operation:

  • The machine starts to work when the latch closes.
  • Water begins to accumulate in the tank - just like it does with a washing machine.
  • Water is heated thanks to a heat-heating element - TENU, but there are designs where heating occurs in a boiler or boiler.
  • A sprayer is needed to evenly wet the dishes.
  • Their work is controlled by a special valve, which regulates the amount of water in the chamber.
  • When the washing cycle is completed, dirty water comes out through the drain hose, the latch contacts open and clean dishes can be removed.

The most common breakdowns

Despite the fact that each machine may have its own vagaries, there are malfunctions that periodically occur in dishwashers of all brands. These include the following:

  • water does not go;
  • the machine does not start, although the motor turns on;
  • the motor does not turn on;
  • water does not drain;
  • water oozes from under the door;
  • water is oozing from everywhere;
  • no reverse;
  • water is not heated;
  • drying mode does not work;
  • scale on the heater.

Important! Have you encountered the problem of white plaque formation on dishes? The reasons for its appearance and the best solutions we have described in detail in our separate review “White coating on dishes after washing in a dishwasher”.

Water problems

There can be two reasons for the lack of water supply:

  • pump malfunction;
  • damage or improper installation of the filter.

The machine turned on, worked fine but the water does not drain? Search for:

  • sewage blockage;
  • blockage in the drain pipe;
  • problems with the drain pump.

What to look for and what will need repairing Bosch dishwashers:

  • Water has accumulated, but remains cold? Check the heater. Such a malfunction can also occur when the timer does not work correctly.
  • If the heater is working, determine what happened to the time sensor.
  • Water that comes out from under the door indicates that the lock is jammed.
  • If it oozes, but you cannot understand where it is from, check the gasket.

If the filters are out of order

Filters are installed both at the input and output. In the first case, purified water enters the tank, in the second, the filter serves to clean the spent liquid.

A sign of clogging of the inlet filter is that water does not enter the machine well. In the second case, the water does not pour out completely. Filters just need to be changed. You can buy new ones at the Bosch, Elektrolux and other companies brand stores.

TEN heats poorly

The reluctance of the unit to heat water can indicate not only a malfunction of the heater, but also that a lot of scale has formed on it. In this case, it is not necessary to change the element, you just need to process it with the help of special tools (among which there are a lot of those that are in almost any house).

Important! The proper selection of detergents affects the life of the dishwasher. To understand the diversity will help our post “Means for dishwashers - rating".

The unit does not want to work

If the engine is running, but the car is not, check the pump. Such a picture can also occur if the engine is shorted. The failure of the motor to work generally indicates that:

  • the winding burned out;
  • the cable is damaged;
  • there is no voltage in the outlet;
  • on burned windings, breakdown in the power cable

Find out the reason:

  • A reverse function may fail if the timer breaks or the motor windings burn out.
  • Does the machine refuse to dry the dishes? Fan failed or motor defective.

Repair of dishwashers Ariston

Perfect household appliances do not exist in nature. Each brand has its own characteristics, and they must be taken into account when buying, and in the case when the repair of dishwashers was suddenly needed.

Filters and hose

The Ariston dishwasher displays F5 if a malfunction occurs. Most often, problems can be fixed on their own. The most common breakdowns of cars of this brand are water entering, but it is impossible to complete the cycle, because after a few minutes it leaves;

If water without any of your actions comes out after 15-20 minutes, check:

  • coarse and fine filters;
  • hose position.

Important! Strainers simply need to be washed or replaced. They are located in the lower part of the unit, under the sprayers. It is very good if you still have instructions - it is written very clearly and clearly.

As for the hose, it must be connected to the drain at a height of about half a meter from the floor.

Sealant

Another weak point of dishwashers “Ariston” is the gasket. If a puddle appears during the operation of the machine, then the time has come to change it. Buying a new one is not difficult, this company has a large number of salons, service centers and company stores.

Important! What definitely should not be done is to try to glue the seal with tape or electrical tape. There will be no sense from such repairs of the Ariston dishwasher - the machine will start to leak again in a few minutes.

Clever elements of "Ariston"

Some nodes of the "aristons" themselves can tell the owner that they need to be replaced. For example, in the Ariston LI 480 model, the inlet hose will inform you of the need for replacement.

A break is indicated by a color change. It consists of two parts - external and internal. The outer shell is transparent, the inner is blue.

Important! The inner hose deteriorates. If this happens, it turns red from blue. In addition, this unit is equipped with a special blocker, which in the event of any malfunction simply will not allow water to accumulate.

Heating element

It happens that from the dishwasher “Ariston” begins to smell extremely unpleasant - burnt insulation. The display does not respond, does not produce errors. The unit perfectly launders dishes, the water heats up to the desired temperature, the motor noises no more than usual. But the smell is an alarm in itself. And the reason is in the heater.

To find out the cause and repair the dishwashers:

  1. Disconnect the unit from all communications.
  2. Disassemble the walls.
  3. Mark with a marker where are the fasteners.
  4. TEN wires in Ariston are located under sound insulation on the right side.
  5. Inspect the wires.
  6. Inspect the terminals - if they burn out, the element will have to be changed.
  7. Unclip the clamps.
  8. Remove the heater.
  9. Put a new one.
  10. Reassemble the device in the reverse order.

Repair dishwashers bosch

Bosch is a reputable German company. Her products are not prone to whims and surprises. However, this brand has its own characteristics. The most vulnerable part is the circulation pump.

The signs of such a breakdown are simple: the machine turns on, is filled with water, but this is where the process ends. The control panel does not react in any way. Or another situation - when you turn on the machine, the pump starts to buzz, while it is equally loud with the door closed and open. Both that, and another testifies to the broken pump.

Important! First, check its motor with a tester. If there is voltage, but there is no work, you will have to repair it. Do not forget to inspect the engine - salt deposits or oxidation, which occurs due to leaks, may be a cause of failure.

We repair the pump

In this case, you will need a repair kit:

  • impeller;
  • sealing ring;
  • stuffing box.

To make repairs to the Bosch dishwasher, or rather its pump, you need to disassemble the unit and clean the internal elements if they are rusted. For this:

  1. Remove the impeller - under it you will see an oil seal and a sleeve.
  2. Separate the snail from the motor.
  3. Next, you have to disassemble the engine. Details are easily removed, the main thing is not to try to break anything off with force.
  4. Unscrew the studs - there are four of them.
  5. Remove the cover.
  6. Inspect the motor - most likely, you will see rust on the rotor and a jammed stator.

You already have everything you need for repair, so all that remains is to replace the necessary elements:

  1. Inspect the impeller - if the ceramic coating on the inside is not even pink, but any other - replace it.
  2. Replace oil seal.
  3. Collect the pump.

Aquastop

Repair of Bosch dishwashers may also be necessary due to other problems - exactly the same as the rest of the machines. They “treat” them in exactly the same ways as “Electroluxes” or “Aristons”.

But there is another feature that is specific to Bosch dishwashers. This is the activation of the Aquastop system. You will learn about this problem right away - E15 will appear on the display.

This is not even a breakdown, the float of the sensor is simply stuck. The method of struggle is quite simple:

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Tilt the machine at an angle of 45 °.
  3. Drain the pan.
  4. The sensor should be in the “water” position.

However, there may be other reasons for this phenomenon - the same as those of other machines, that is, clogged filters. To replace the filter, do the following:

  1. Unscrew the inlet hose.
  2. Take out the net.
  3. Rinse it under running water.
  4. Put the filter back.

Important! It is most convenient to remove the mesh with pliers.

Valve replacement

If the filter is in order, but the water still does not pour, inspect the filling valve. It is located immediately after the filter:

  1. Check the contacts with a multimeter.
  2. Inspect the flaps and other details.
  3. If necessary - remove the valve and install a new one.

Control the hose

Often, the reason that water does not pour is the incorrect installation of the hose gasket. This happens when you just connected the car to the water supply. The gasket just needs to be turned over.

Cleaning filter

The cleaning filter may become clogged - in this case, the exact opposite problem occurs, that is, water does not come out. Like the bulk filter, it must be removed and washed. It is removed easily. In addition, the reason that the water does not come out may be:

  • creases and bends on the drain hose;
  • pump failure.

Important! The issue with the hose is solved elementarily - you just need to inspect it, check whether the car is standing on it, and straighten it.

Bosch freezes

This happens, and there can be many reasons:

  • general failure of the electronic system;
  • failure of the control module;
  • triggering a self-diagnosis system;
  • lack of sealing.

Important! If the machine itself has diagnosed a malfunction, a corresponding message will appear on the display. Until the defect is fixed, Bosch will not work.

To understand which repair a Bosch dishwasher will need:

  • Try rebooting your assistant. If a general malfunction occurs, the unit will start working after a reboot.
  • But you won’t be able to deal with the control module yourself - you will have to contact the service center.
  • The reason for the lack of sealing can be both a defect in the seal and a malfunction of the sensor. The seal is better to just change. The sensor, most likely, will also have to be removed and a new one installed.

Important! After the machine is assembled, do not forget to test it.

Repair of dishwashers Electrolux

The most serious malfunctions in the dishwashers of this brand are improper water supply, lack of draining and power outages. At the same time, the machine is ready to tell the owner what exactly happens to her, you just need to understand its signals. You can find out what kind of repair you need for Electrolux dishwashers by flashing the indicator and the appearance of letters and numbers on the display.

Meaning of Error Codes

The number of blinks corresponds to the first digit of the code:

  • 1 blink or code i10 - water supply disturbances;
  • 2 flashes or code i20 - a problem with the drain;
  • 3 flashes or i30 code - the overflow prevention system has broken
  • 5 flashes, code i50 - the triac of the pump is out of order;
  • 6 blinks, code i60 - water does not heat up;
  • 7 flashes, code i70 - thermostat does not work;
  • 8 flashes, i80 code - memory problems.
  • 9 flashes or i90 code - the machine did not understand the task, because you set it incorrectly.
  • 10 flashes, code iA0 - the dishes were loaded incorrectly.

I10

If i10 appears, set the cause as follows:

  1. Check the drain hose.
  2. Check if the water in the house has been turned off.
  3. Flush or replace the filter in the water supply system.

I20

When you see the i20 code, take care of the water drain system. Check:

  • filter;
  • pump;
  • siphon.

If necessary, remove the blockage. Wash or change the cleaning filter.

I30

When you see i30, restart the program. If the error persists, look for any irregularities in the feed or drain system.

Important! The cause of the failure of the thermostat may be a break or short circuit. The item is best replaced.

I90

After receiving the i90 message, reset the data and set a new task.

IA0

If the message iA0 appears, remove the dishes from the tank and place them again.

Faulty heater

The heater at the Electrolux dishwasher is at the bottom. On some models, an electronic sensor controls the heater. If it fails, the machine turns on, but does not wash the dishes or wash it with cold water.

To repair an Electrolux dishwasher with such a malfunction:

  1. Turn the car over.
  2. Remove the bottom.
  3. Check the resistance at the contacts of the heating element - if the resistance tends to infinity, the element must be changed.
  4. Loosen the screws.
  5. Remove the heater.
  6. Put a new item.

Repair of dishwashers Siemens

The Siemens dishwasher will itself inform you of problems - these units have a built-in self-diagnosis system. Malfunctions may occur:

  • in the control system;
  • in the water supply and heating system;
  • in the drain system.

On the display you will see the inscription:

  • e01;
  • e02;
  • e03;
  • e04;
  • e05.

We deal with electronics

The cause of failures in the operation of the electronic module can be power surges. The machine does not start the washing program or does not execute it correctly. You can cope with the problem without specialists - it is enough just to restart the unit.

Important! At Siemens, the electronic unit is extremely reliable and durable.

Water outages

The reasons may be the same as with other machines, however, it should be borne in mind that Siemens dishwashers, especially the latest models, have several valves for the bay. Water passes through them, a heat exchanger and a salt tank.

Important! Most often, water is not flooded due to contamination of one part of the system. In addition, such malfunctions can occur after the water in the house has been turned off. You will find out about the error by the inscription on the display - e14, e17 or e18.

In addition to the above, there may be other reasons for the lack of water supply:

  • valve freeze;
  • hard water.

Valves or sensors just need to be replaced. This can be done independently or at a service center.

Aquastop

Like Bosch machines, Siemens units have leakage protection. If the water still oozes for some reason, the inlet valve is blocked, and the drain pump turns on.

Important! In this case, e15 appears on the display.

The solution is simple - tilt the unit and drain the water from the pan.

Water does not drain

Siemens dishwashers are very reliable, and they rarely have problems with draining. However, there are, and the reasons may be:

  • improper connection to the sewer;
  • food waste or splinters entering the machine;
  • poor elongation of the drain hose.

The following codes indicate problems with drainage:

  • e22;
  • e23;
  • e24;
  • e25.

The control methods are the simplest: check the cleaning filter and hose. The most important thing is to prevent solid food waste from entering the tank.

Problems with the water heating system

There may be several signs that not everything is okay in the heating system:

  • dishes remain dirty;
  • detergents do not dissolve;
  • dishes do not dry;
  • washing interrupted spontaneously.

Important! You will find out that the problems arose precisely in this system from the message on the display - e09, e10 or e11.

“Medication” - cleaning or replacing a heating element, according to the same scheme as that of a “Ariston” dishwasher.
