How to drain the water from the washing machine?

If the washing machine does not drain the water, this is, of course, a nuisance that needs to be addressed. But she is not critical. You can quite do without the services of professional masters and drain the water from the washing machine yourself. Before emergency drain, be sure to unplug the machine. Next, use one of the following methods.

Method 1 - Through the drain hose.

You can only use this method if the drain hose is located in the lower part of the body in your model. In this case:

  1. Remove the hose from the back of the machine.
  2. Lower it to the floor level, having previously substituted a basin for water.

Method 2 - Through the drain pipe

Emergency drain pipe is not available on all machine models. It is located next to the pump filter, under its cover. To make sure that your equipment has an emergency drain pipe, open the decorative panel. If this part is present, then:

  1. Carefully dismantle the handset.
  2. Carefully remove the cap.
  3. Substitute the prepared water tank.

Method 3 - Through the pump filter

Another way to correct the situation when the washing machine does not drain the water is to drain it through the pump filter. In most models of washing machines, such a detail is provided. It is located at the bottom of the home appliance on the front panel. Usually the filter is covered with a decorative panel or hatch.

To drain water using a pump filter:

  1. Remove the decorative panel (if there is a hatch - hook its edge with a flat screwdriver).

Important! If the filter is under a narrow decorative panel, you must first determine the method of its installation:

  • in case of fastening on locking hooks - it is necessary to install them vertically with a screwdriver and remove the panel;
  • when fastening on latches - open the upper part, and then carefully disconnect the latches on the lower part;
  • if the panel is mounted on the screw and latches - disconnect it by sliding it to the side.
  1. Tilt the washing machine back slightly.
  2. Substitute the prepared container under the pump filter.
  3. Turn the filter knob counterclockwise.
  4. After the water spills out, tighten the filter.
  5. Empty the container
  6. Repeat the procedure until the water is completely drained.

Method 4 - Through the tank drain pipe

If all of the above methods did not give a result, then the corrugated tank drain pipe is clogged. It is installed at the outlet of the tank and connects the tank to the pump. To drain water through a branch pipe it is necessary:

  1. Get access to it.
  2. Disconnect nozzle from pump.
  3. Clear the blockage.
  4. Carefully drain the water through the pipe.

Important! If the Samsung washing machine does not drain, use the user manual to proceed as follows:

  • Disconnect the machine from the power source.
  • Use a coin or key to open the filter cover.
  • Turning the plug of the emergency drain pipe to the left, turn it out.
  • Pull the plug towards you and slowly, gently pull the emergency drain tube to a distance of no more than 15 cm.
  • Drain the water using the drain pipe into the prepared container.
  • Insert the emergency drain tube back.
  • Install the plug.
  • Insert the filter cover.

Why doesn't the machine drain the water?

Unfortunately, the fact that the washing machine does not drain the water is one of the most common problems. The causes may be different:

  1. The connecting pipe, which goes from the tank to the pump (pump), is clogged with garbage. Small parts of clothing (for example, socks) can get stuck in the nozzle and, as a result, the automatic machine cannot drain the water.
  2. Wrong wash program selected. On some machines, the “no drain” mode is integrated. Recheck if you accidentally chose this option. In this case, the solution to the question of how to drain the water from the washing machine will be the easiest - set a different mode and wash the laundry again, or manually set the drain-rinse-spin mode so as not to start a full cycle.
  3. Problems with the drain hose. If there is a kink or clogging of the drain hose, then this prevents the machine from fully performing work. Check the drain hose for bends, and at the same time if the siphon is clogged if the water outlet goes through it.
  4. Filter clogged. If the filter is not cleaned periodically, according to the instructions, then at the most inopportune moment, it can cause the drain to become clogged. The culprits of a filter blockage may be: paper, bones from the bra, pins, coins, buttons and other small and larger parts. All this makes it difficult or even stops the discharge of water. To correct the situation and drain the water from the washing machine, the filter must be cleaned. But keep in mind that after removing the filter, water will pour onto the floor, so foresee this situation and substitute the necessary capacity.
  5. Malfunction of the drain pump (pump). This malfunction can be determined by the uncharacteristic muffled hum of the pump during discharge. Unambiguously determine whether the pump is working, a specialist can. The pump may fail due to normal wear and tear (3-5 year service life) or the pump impeller could be blocked by small parts that leaked through the filter. Hair or threads could also be wound on the impeller. In this case, you just can’t do without disassembling the pump. =

Important! The buzz and noise during the discharge, as well as periodic malfunctions - this is an alarm. Contact a specialist or independently inspect the machine, if you have enough skills and knowledge for this.

  1. Problems with wiring. Violation of the integrity of the wiring inside the machine can lead to a malfunction in its operation. An experienced specialist will determine such a malfunction without much difficulty.
  2. Faulty programmer (control module). A software failure or burnt microcircuit leads to a malfunction of the module, as a result - the washing machine does not drain the water, and you think “What to do?”. In this situation, the module must be repaired or replaced with a new one.
  3. An overload may also cause a malfunction of the washing machine. Remember that if your assistant is designed for 3 kg of dry laundry, then loading a larger amount is not recommended.

Important! After all repairs, be sure to be careful with the mounting points during assembly. Check the presence of the clamps, as well as their tightening, tighten all the screws. Perform a test wash and make sure that there are no leaks. In case of a failure, be sure to fix the problem and check the operation of the machine again.
