  • solvents such as acetone, white spirit.

  • emery paper;

How to clean a cast-iron bath at home?

Cast-iron bathtubs are not too whimsical to care for, so there are many ways to clean such a bowl. Take one of them to your note and regularly follow all the conditions of the instructions.

Method 1

The easiest option is special paste-like cleaners. They are quite effective, but at the same time operate in a sparing mode, without forming scratches on the coating. The principle of their use is also not complicated:

  1. Apply the paste to the sponge.
  2. Sequentially treat the entire surface inside the bowl.
  3. Do not rinse immediately, but leave for half an hour to get the highest quality result.
  4. After this time, wash off the paste while treating the surface with a sponge.
  5. Rinse the bowl liberally to rinse off all chemical residues.

Important! Buy such creams only those manufacturers who have proven themselves well. It may be quite expensive, but the result is worth it. Otherwise, you will have to scrub the bath for hours, and you will not observe any cleaning effect, it will remain yellow.

Method 2

Special cleaning powders for the bath also allow it to be whitened well if used as follows:

  1. Rinse the bath.
  2. Apply powder over the entire surface.
  3. Hold it without rinsing for 30-60 minutes - it depends on the degree of contamination.
  4. Take a hard metal brush and walk it in those areas where a large deposit of rust or yellowness has formed.
  5. Rinse off the powder while treating the surface with a sponge so that no particles of chemistry remain on the bathroom.
  6. Rinse the bowl liberally with cool shower water.

Method 3

Another way is quite aggressive, but it allows you to return the attractiveness of the bathroom even with very strong contaminants after a long period of operation:

  1. Wet the bowl inside.
  2. Treat all areas with rust with a metal brush.
  3. Dilute acetic, oxalic or other acid with water to form a less concentrated paste solution.
  4. Apply the mixture to the entire surface and leave for half an hour.
  5. Rinse well out of the shower.

Method 4

How to clean the bathA universal option for removing rust and yellowness from the bathtub and any other surface in the house - food and soda ash. Choose this option if you have no other means at hand, but you decide to clean the bath. To do this, do the following:

  1. Mix soda with water in a 1: 1 ratio.

  3. Leave on for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Sponge the surface by dampening it slightly.
  5. Prepare a not very concentrated solution of vinegar or bleach.

Method 5

  1. Spray the product onto the walls of the bath so that the liquid completely covers the entire surface, rather than dripping in thin streams in separate areas.
  2. Leave on for 30-40 minutes.
  3. Rub with a sponge.
  4. Rinse until the chemistry is completely removed from the shower, first with warm (not hot!) And then with cool water.

Method 6

Suitable for cleaning the bathroom and folk remedies, for example, ammonia. It is used according to this scheme:

  1. Get a full bath of very hot water.
  2. Leave on for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Wet the sponge in liquid ammonia and treat the entire surface of the bath in a circular motion.
  4. Take a break for half an hour without washing off the product.
  5. Take soda or washing powder, apply it to a sponge and wipe off any deposits of rust and lime.
  6. Rinse the bath well with warm water.

Method 7

This is an option for lazy people or people with a very busy work schedule:

  1. In the evening, get a full bath of hot water.
  2. Dissolve oxygen concentrate or 30 bags of citric acid powder in water.
  3. Leave it all night.
  4. Drain the water in the morning and gently rub the surface with a sponge to remove the remnants of smudges, lime and rust - it will take 10-15 minutes.
  5. Rinse the bath out of the shower.

How to clean an acrylic bath?

Acrylic is a fairly durable material, but requires knowledge of some features for surface care. Clean this bowl the same way as cast iron, but keep in mind some restrictions:

  • coarse-abrasive products are undesirable - they can leave scratches on the coating;
  • if you remove the plaque with a brush - take a soft, but in no case metal;
  • Do not use highly concentrated acids, alkalis and chlorine - they can melt acrylic.

The procedure for cleaning an acrylic bath is as follows:

  1. Clean the surface with the selected cleaning agent.
  2. Allow time for the substances to begin to act.
  3. Wipe the bathtub with the soft side of the sponge until the unsightly plaque is completely removed.
  4. Rinse with water.
  5. Wipe dry.
